Peacefully situated surrounded by open countryside and fields on the owners non working farm (although there are a few chickens) these two barns have been sympathetically converted retaining many original features, including trusses, beams and exposed stonework. They boast a shared games/laundry room and are set in an ideal area for Alton Towers and for exploring the great outdoors in the Southern Peak District and Staffordshire Moorlands, one of Britain’s best kept secrets. Riding, cycling and walks locally. Potteries, Ashbourne, Churnet Valley and Dovedale all within 12 miles. Market towns such as Cheadle, Ashbourne, Leek, Bakewell and Uttoxeter all a short drive away. Two steam railways, historic houses and visitor centres, many industrial museums and potteries all within easy reach. An ideal holiday base. Shop 2 miles, pub 1/2 mile.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen. 1 double bedroom with en-suite wet room. First floor: 1 double bedroom with additional single. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Most rooms with beams.

Both properties: Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Shared laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. Dishwasher.   10. We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday. The accommodation was fantastic - clean, light and airy, and well off the beaten track. It provided the perfect retreat and was a good base from which to visit the surrounding area. We would certainly go back again - in fact we all wished it was our house! Feb 2008.
