Property Description

This detached holiday property has been converted to a very good standard in the grounds of a 250-acre working farm which stocks cattle and occasionally, sheep. Situated in a small hamlet with a good network of footpaths and lovely scenery all around. Visit Whipsnade Zoo, Milton’s Cottage, Chiltern Brewery and Tring Zoological Museum, all within ½ hours drive. Blenheim Palace, Legoland and safari park within 1 hours drive. Underground station direct to London within 3 miles. Shop 2½ miles, pub ¾ mile.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Shower room with toilet. Beams and flagstone floors throughout.

Oil central heating, bed linen and towels included. Electricity by meter reading. Travel cot. High chair. Video. Stereo/CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Parking (2 cars). No smoking.

  1. Excellent comfortable cottage with lovely woodland walks within walking distance. Chesham is only 5 minutes away with a underground station to the centre of London. Several lovely towns and villages in the area, we had a lovely relaxing holiday. Nov 2012.
  2. Compact cottage but equipped with everything you could want for a very comfortable stay. Owners are available on site, but respect guests privacy and stay away – which we really appreciated. Large garden is private, but one border is a hedge which may not be secure for many dogs. Note that only small pets are allowed – not sure why as I took my Bullmastiff (not realising that there was this restriction!) he loved it, and as he is very well behaved caused no damage. Sept 2012.
  3. Very comfortable cottage in a fairly quiet location. Found it to be a good base for exploring the Chilterns and many excellent national trust properties in the area. As Chesham, which is only 3 miles away, is at the end of the Underground, we were able to enjoy a visit to London as well. June 2012.
  4. This is an excellent base to visit London and great for family days out to whipsnade zoo and legoland. The cottage was perfect for a small family. June 2012.

  8. The property is very clean and comfortable. The location is great for visiting London, it is in a queit location close to all the places we wished to visit, I recomend this location. Sept 2011.
  9. Our family had a lovely time at the cottage which was a home from home for us as it is a farm! The owners were warm, friendly and very helpful. Loved the quirky cottage with the beams and lovely fireplace. Will be recommending to friends! Aug 2011.
  10. For the particular break we wanted this area & this cottage for were especially good. Cottage very convenient and adequate for two. Easy access to NT and other properties nearby. Self catering equipment better than most - and they even had a tray to carry things on!! - and, believe it or not, a cafeteria too, sadly missing in many properties we have had. I take my own now. Owners very welcoming and other neighbours very friendly. We had a really good time. The road surfaces in Buckinghamshire are appalling so prepare for bumpy rides. If you don’t know the area you need a "Landranger" Ordnance Survey Map (1 Km to the inch)to find ways through the many lanes and sideroads which are not well placed on bigger road maps. The property did not have one - possibly borrowed ? We shall probably return some when. June 2011.

  13. Very Clean, well presented cottage, nice conversion of an old barn. Although close to the road which passes the farm, this does not cause any problems either with noise or risk of running out into the road. Very happy to see that we had a small bottle of milk on arrival with Tea and coffee, nice touch. July 2010.

If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason. If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately..
