This single storey cottage adjoins the owner’s home and was formerly a stable which has been carefully renovated to offer compact, yet cosy accommodation. Situated in the village of Birchover in the heart of the Peak District National Park, on a non-working farm, there is walking and hiking from the door making it a perfect base. Birchover is equi-distant from the popular market towns of Bakewell and Matlock, both having an array of shops plus leisure facilities to include swimming and golf. Chatsworth House complete with visitors centre and its acres of unspoilt park land are close by for your entertainment. Shop 150 yards, pub and restaurant 30 yards.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen. 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Shared laundry facilities. Shared enclosed lawned garden with patio and furniture. Portable barbecue. Parking (1 car). No smoking. NB: Pond near property.

  10. This property is superb, cosy kitted out with everything you could possibly need, even a box of chocolates. The owner is lovely and her dogs are delighted to see you. Jan 2008.
  11. The owner was very helpful and friendly. There was a paddock just round the corner from the cottage ideal for taking our dog to first thing. Also a summer house with loungers that we were invited to use if we wanted. Sept 2007.

  13. Our week was one of the most relaxing my wife have spent in recent years. The cottage owner couldn’t have been more accommodating or friendly and she welcomed us both with ’open-arms’. Our entire week was an absolute pleasure. The village itself was delightful but the local routes we experienced where simply stunning. The whole area is a credit to the local communities and everywhere that my wife and I travelled to, we were met by some lovely people who simply went out of their ways to make our visit even more enjoyable. Overall, one of the BEST holidays ever and we plan to revisit the area again, once our finances allow. Bearing in mind my dear wife is disabled, and I myself have suffered from serious illnesses, our whole visit was a complete and utter pleasure and we frequently discuss what other areas down there we could visit next.   15. The owner was indeed a supreme host. Although the accommodation was somewhat compact, there is space enough for two + dog and very well equipped and the views are superb. It really was home from home. Plenty walks nearby and close proximity to two local public houses catering for all palates. Village shop nearby opens long hours. Well stocked. Only negative: Not cycling country! 10/10 July 2006.
