Built in 1934, in an Art-Deco style and fully restored to provide comfortable accommodation at a very good standard, it is just a short stroll from the charming cobbled streets of historic Terrasson-Lavilledieu with its 12th-century stone bridge, abbey, small squares, excellent choice of restaurants and cafés and Jardins de L’Imaginaire. A lively market, where you can sample local produce at its very best, is held on Thursday mornings throughout the year. An ideal base from which to explore all that the Dordogne has to offer with good road links to the major tourist attractions in the area. Brive airport 18km.

Location: 500m from town centre (bars, shops, supermarkets, weekly market), 18km W of Brive (major city, all facilities), 18km NE of Montignac (Lascaux II caves), 27km SE of Hautefort (historic village, château, gardens), 38km N of Sarlat (medieval market town, all facilities), 54km E of Périgueux (capital of the Dordogne, all facilities).

  1. Riverside House is a perfect house in a perfect location. All of Terrasson’s amenities are only a few minutes walk from the house. The views from the bedrooms were awe inspiring. We found the house an excellent base to explore the Dordogne and Perigord Noir. The swimming pool was excellent, and a fault was rectified very quickly by the "hot pool guy", so it was out of action for a few hours only. Our party was made up of four adults and five children (ranging in age from nine to sixteen), and there was plenty of space for everyone. At the end of the holiday we all agreed that it was the best , most relaxing holiday we had ever had. Aug 2012.
  2. We found this house had a warm welcoming atmosphere, very well stocked with equipment, reasonably up to date, even an umbrella was provided in case of rain. The beds were very comfortable there was loads of hot water, and we found the pool very welcome in the hot weather. It was a 5 minute walk from the town centre which was a plus. All in all this was one of our better holiday homes. May 2012.
