1. These terms and conditions should be read with the Booking Conditions and insurance information in our brochures or on our website. Especially note Sections 2, 4 and 7 of the Booking Conditions
2. Offer applies only to bookings for 2014 which are booked before 13th April 2014.
3. The low deposit payable under this offer is £25.
4. Does not apply to properties that sleep 10 or more.
5. The difference between the £25 low  deposit and the usual deposit shown in our main brochure or website is payable with the balance payment, which we must receive no later than 10 weeks before your booking starts, or at the time of cancellation if you cancel your booking. This payment will include all applicable charges as detailed on your booking confirmation, including any insurance premiums and any Ferry costs. If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason. If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately.

Property Description

This stylish, detached holiday cottage is in a very quiet location but just a few minutes from the heart of one of the most notable of the Cotswold villages and is an ideal base for exploring the area. It lies close to the owner’s home in an elevated position with nearby lovely views across the surrounding countryside, and endless walking opportunities. The famous Roman Fosse Way makes the northern and southern Cotswold boundaries accessible, as are famous gardens such as Hidcote Manor, Kiftsgate, and the arboretum of Batsford. Stratford-upon-Avon, Cirencester, Oxford and Bath are all an easy drive. Good pubs, restaurants, individual shops and the old market square are within very close walking distance. Shops 100 yards.

  1. Lovely cottage and ideal location. Would normally be abit wary of booking a cottage that is right next to the owners home, but no need as the owners are lovely people and don’t bother you at all, we did stop to say hello a few time’s and have a brief chat but never felt like we were being watched in any way. Would love to return. March 2012.
  2. We absolutely loved the cottage, it was so comfortable and surprisingly warm considering there were only a few radiators dotted around the place. We loved the location, privately set back from the road but only a few minutes walk to lots of lovely little shops. Feb 2012.
  3. Lovely cottage to sleep 2 (first floor bed/bathroom on a kind of mezzanine open-plan arrangement). Comfy, up to date furnishings with everything provided. Set next to the owners house a few mins walk from Stow - great location. Owners very friendly when we bumped into them. Jan 2012.

  6. We really enjoyed our 2 weeks spent at this beautiful cottage. A short stroll took you into Stow on the Wold so no trouble finding a parking space. Janet & Colin the owners made us very welcome and had everything that you required at the cottage.We visited many beautiful churches in the different villages and would recommend a visit to see the stained glass windows in St. Mary,s Church at Fairford. Bourton-on-the-Water is worth visiting just to go to The Old Manse Hotel for their Fish & Chips. Aug 2011.

  8. The Retreat was just our taste clean, modern, comfortable and an ideal location for visiting the local area. This was a lovely place to stay and would recommend it to friends and family, the only down side for us was there was no gate on the garden so our dog had to stay on the lead. June 2011.

  17. Immaculately clean, well-appointed, modern, with everything you could need...and more. Only two minutes’ walk to the town centre square with all its charm and facilities. The owners were so kind and helpful, with two friendly dogs of their own which made friends with mine! Very close to nearby good walks for the dog too. July 2010.

  20. It is obvious (even to the uninitiated) that much thought has been put into the way this cottage has been designed, decorated and furnished. This is not surprising when you meet Janet and Colin (the owners) who live next door in a beautiful Cotswold House. They are the "perfect" hosts and such lovely people. The Retreat Cottage is without doubt the best for my wife and I in 5 stays in the area. We wanted to book again for early September but it is full... no wonder! May 2010.
