Property Description

Amidst the rolling uplands of the South Cotswolds, this spacious cottage boasts a large paddock-style garden. Carefully restored to preserve much character and charm, The Pump House offers every modern convenience, and well served by the shops and good pubs of the pleasant village of Hawkesbury Upton. This area of the South Cotswolds, has many small towns and villages, which have not changed over the centuries – Thornbury a typical English market town with a wide range of historic buildings or the ancient wool town of Wotton-under-edge with its small friendly shops, tea rooms and inns is a popular shopping place are well worth the drive. There are plenty of museums or national trust houses to visit, Durham Park, Horton Court, Berkley Castle, Oldbury Power station and the Jenner museum to name but a few, and with country parks an easy drive, there’s something for everyone. A little further afield you will find Bristol with its historic churches, maritime connections and architecture and Georgian Bath with its art galleries, museums and theatre royal, along with the wildfowl trust at Slimbridge, Berkeley Castle, Dyrham Park, and the Weston Birt Arboretum all within 20 miles. The Pump House is well placed for a holiday touring this beautiful area, and is just ½ mile from the Cotswold Way.

  4. The Pump House is a very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a beautiful area close to many places of interest, and with some lovely walks from the house. We found a very good child friendly pub serving good meals within walking distance. Mr & Mrs Perks were very welcoming and their home made wine, home grown fruit and veg were really appreciated. We have already recommend the holiday to friends and family and will definitely be returning. Sept 2011.

  6. A beautiful well-appointed property in a small Cotswold village that has good access to many interesting places just a short drive away - Bath, Bristol, Slimbridge, Tetbury, Westonbirt Arboretum, etc. etc. The owners live in the house next door but leave you alone unless you want their assistance. Very pleasant people who are extremely helpful when asked. We recommend this property wholeheartedly. Dec 2010.

This enabled our party to visit Bath - 40 mins South and Bourton on the water about 1hour 10 mins North easily for day trips. We visited Tesco at Yates for the 4 day shop about 20mins South West. The Pump House was exactly as described, there was enough room for our party of 5 adults and 3 children, only negative was that we could of done with a larger fridge. Dec 2009.
