Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Lovely, quiet village and top notch accommodation. Food at the Anvil Inn was superb although it’s closed Mon, Tues. Advisable to book. The dogs enjoyed it too! Sept 2012.
  2. We loved everything about the Owlery. The cottage & location was lovely. The attention to detail by the owner was wonderful. The personal touch makes all the difference. Would thoroughly recommend this property. Sept 2012.
  3. Very comfortable and cosy converted outbuilding in a quiet village with pleasant sitting out area and good car parking. Property was well equipped and had a rustic charm that particularly appealed to us during our weekend stay. Unfortunately it was an atrociously wet weekend so we were not able to explore the paths and trails around the village as much as we’d hoped, so another visit beckons I think. Ideal base for visiting Yorkshire coast and North Yorkshire Moors or for walking/cycling. April 2012.
  4. The Owlery was very comfortable, extremely well equipped and in an excellent location for exploring the North York Moors and visit its attractions. Above all we received a very warm welcome from the owner Jacqui, who was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. Furthermore, for anyone with one or two dogs this cottage is very canine friendly. We have stayed in many holiday cottages in the UK and abroad. We have rarely been disappointed, but this one takes some beating. We will definitely be returning. March 2012.
  5. Great location for coast and moors - quiet and cosy with everything you could want/need. March 2012.
  6. Comfortable accommodation in a dog friendly area. Good walks, pubs and food nearby. Access to beaches nearby good outside of main holiday season (May-Sept). March 2012.
  7. My Husband and I had a lovely relaxing holiday at the Owlery. We found that it was well located to visit along the coastline and there were lots of nice walks locally, our Labrador liked the woods which were just up the road a short drive in the car. Jacqui the owner was great and very welcoming. We would recommend the Owlery and hope to visit again soon. March 2012.
  8. The Owlery exceeded all our expectations and is probably the best cottage we have ever rented. There was not a single thing needing attention and the owner made us very welcome. We would certainly recommend this property and the surrounds at any time of the year. Dec 2011.
  9. A real pleasure to stay there, a home from home! Nov 2011.
  10. Friendly and helpful owner. Quiet location in a quaint village with superb local, dog friendly pub, The Anvil Inn. Oct 2011.
  11. A lovely, comfortable cottage, ideal for a couple. The owner was very helpful without being intrusive. The cottage was very well fitted and very clean (one thing - would advise a new toilet brush). Loved the decoration, felt like home from home. Ideally situated for visiting the local area. Sept 2011.
  12. Cottage setting was perfect, Jacqui Botting owner of the Owlery was one of the most nicest people ever met, she had a welcome pack which included tea, coffee, milk, bread and butter with a home-made cake, something we did not expect, will most definitely go back, a week was just to short. The cottage was just perfect kingsize bed was excellent especially as my husband is 6’5" and in most places a week is enough as he gets a bad back, but he slept like a baby. July 2011.
  13. Just what we hoped for. July 2011.
  14. A really pleasant and well-equipped cottage that is ideally sited for exploring much of North Yorkshire. June 2011.
  15. Idyllic location, ideal for exploring the surrounding area. Lovely cottage with everything you could need and very friendly owners. Perfect getaway! April 2011.
  16. Thank you for a wonderful 5 day break, gorgeous, clean and cosy cottage. We were made very welcome by Jacqui and everyone in the village. Lovely walks, local pub was very welcoming and the food was excellent. Can’t wait for our next Visit, Ian, Diane and Jessica (American Cocker Spaniel) Johnston. A|pril 2011.
  17. This cottage was everything we wanted, log burner, allows dogs, everything we needed was there, the owner even sold logs at a very reasonable price. Bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee, sugar were there on arrival as well as a lovely welcoming cake. Very clean and well presented. Excellent surroundings with a huge amount to do. Feb 2011.
  18. A great venue for a quiet few days, just me, the wife and our new cocker spaniel. Nov 2010.
  19. Beautiful property, homemade cake on arrival was a lovely touch! Nov 2010.
  20. A beautiful little barn conversion. The standard was brilliant and far superior to any other UK accommodation we have stayed in. Kitchen was really well equipped and the bed was more comfortable than the one at home. Can’t fault it in any way and wish it was my own home. Oct 2010.
