Property Description

Adjoining the owner’s 17th century Grade II listed home, this first floor holiday cottage-style apartment is furnished and equipped to a very good standard and is accessed from the ground floor. Well converted but with lots of original features retained, it is a comfortable and cosy holiday base with plenty of character. The beautiful walled garden provides a secluded area with amazing views of the farm and across the fields to Bredon Hill and beyond. With foxes and deer often seen on the farm and amazing views in all directions. It is also within half a mile of a beautiful brook with ancient oaks, ideal for walking enthusiasts. The village of Upton Snodsbury, Anglo Saxon in origin, can be seen from the owner’s land. An ideal touring location, with Stratford-upon-Avon, Broadway, the Cotswolds, Bredon Hill, Evesham and Malvern all within 15 miles. Worcester, renowned for porcelain, a cathedral and Sir Edward Elgar connections, is only around 5 miles away. There are also excellent footpath walks from the owner’s farm. Shop 1/2 mile, pubs serving food within walking distance.

Ground floor: Sitting area. First floor: Living room with beams/dining room/kitchen. 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet.

Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. DVD and small library. Stereo/CD and small library. Electric cooker. Microwave. Private patio area in part of owner’s large walled garden and furniture. Ample parking. No smoking. No babies.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. This is a lovely property, snuggled in between fields of sheep. We had some great days out in town (Worcester, Stratford, Warwick) and walking (near the property out to a house where Guy Forkes’ associates once lived! as well as the Malvern hills). The owner was friendly and helpful. We’d visit again without hesitation. Aug 2011.
  2. Well appointed property with very helpful hosts. Plenty of walks around the farm. July 2011.
  3. Lovely situation, very friendly hosts. Great pub cavery within walking distance. July 2011.
  4. Good location as a base for travelling around the area. Lovely, well-equipped cottage, with a very warm welcome from the owners, who were keen to ensure all our needs were catered for. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you. July 2011.
  5. What you wanted in a kitchen was there. June 2011.
  6. Was just what we needed - a delightful apartment set in a lovely setting. I would heartily reccommend it for somewhere to get away from it all. Very convieniently located for Worcester and Stratford, with the owners being very friendly and not at all intrusive! March 2011.
  7. So comfortable and homely. The Old Wool Loft was very cosy and beautifully decorated. Also very warm on a cold December weekend! The comfiest bed I have ever slept in. Hosts were very friendly and couldn’t be more helpful. Dec 2010.
  8. Lovely property - we have stayed there six times now and it is just so relaxing - Julia and John are so welcoming! Nov 2010.
  9. The property is on working farm and the location is lovely. You can hear the sheep when the windows are open. The owners are very friendly and helpful and accommodating. They let you walk around the farm and explore. June 2010.
  10. Couldn’t fault it or the owner. Would definitely go again. Great for local towns but at very top end of Cotswolds so not much in way of true Costwolds experience. Also would be excellent for romamantic, quiet breaks. May 2010.
  11. We found the accommodation to be well laid out with not too much clutter. All the rooms were large and well airy. With an excellent lobby area for wet kit and footwear it would be the perfect base for a walking holiday. Coupled with the fact that there were easy-chairs in the lobby, in the summer it would be a welcome place to relax. The bedroom was large with a very comfortable bed and plenty of storage space. In all it was an extremely good place to stay. March 2010.
  12. The accommodation is on the first floor of the property, not a problem for us but could be for others. Although small it is well furnished, comfortable and, for our stay, warm. The host is very welcoming but not intrusive. There is plenty of information about local attractions, details of walks around the farm and nearby. Feb 2010.
  13. Lovely cottage; we have stayed five times there now and are always made most welcome. Dec 2009.
  14. Property mid 17th Century! Within walking distance of two good pub/ restaurants. Owner Julia very friendly. Sept 2009.
  15. Very nice and loving furnished. Aug 2009.
  16. A 17th century building with lots of character, attached to a working Farm. Exposed wooden beams, slightly uneven floors and ceilings all add to its charm. One ground floor room with a table & chairs, the loft is up one flight of steps. Open plan living room / with well equipped kitchen. Narrow corridor to the good sized Bedroom with en-suite Bathroom. The Farm owners live next door & are extremely friendly & helpful without being intrusive. The only negatives are 1. The double bed is a little uncomfortable (we bought a memory foam mattress topper to stop our backaches) and 2. The Bathroom is small & only has room for a Shower. These two minor concerns aside, we can recommend this accommodation wholeheartedly & have now stayed there twice. Upton Snodsbury is a tiny village with 2 pubs and 1 shop. So a car is useful to get anywhere else. Worcester, Stratford upon Avon, Alcester, Warwick are all within 40 minutes drive.
  17. Good standard of accommodation, with great location close to the beach, and a short walk to shops in the town. Aug 2009.
  18. The Old Wool Loft is very cosy and relaxing and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends and family. March 2009.
  19. This is the fourth time we have stayed in the Old Wool Loft and we have never been disappointed in the property. The owners are always most helpful and the holiday represents excellent value for money. Sept 2008.
  20. Received a really friendly greeting from the owner who had provided tea and home made cake to welcome us to the property. Oct 2008.
