The Jurassic Coast is just 1½ miles away with superb scenic walking, along with use of 4 acres of grounds and footpaths. Each cottage is finished to a high standard offering very comfortable holiday accommodation and is set in the same smart courtyard area as the owners’ homes. The ‘chocolate-box’ village of Burton Bradstock is 3 miles with a good small beach. Abbotsbury, along the coast, has its famous swannery and sub-tropical garden. Further east is the Victorian seaside town of Weymouth, with Blue Flag beach, sea fishing, windsurfing, Sealife Centre and two RSPB nature reserves. Monkey World and the Tank Museum near Wool are great places for a family day out. Dorchester, the county town also known as Thomas Hardy’s ‘Casterbridge’ is 30 minutes’ drive and has a lively weekly market and beautiful Maiden Castle. To the west is the market town of Bridport which was Thomas Hardy’s ‘Port Bredy’ and has the twice weekly market as featured in the popular TV programme River Cottage. The picturesque harbours of West Bay are a great place for fishing. Lyme Regis is an attractive seaside resort which enjoys a dramatic setting with high cliffs, landslips and handsome harbour, known as The Cobb. Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. We had a lovely Christmas at this property, it was decorated for Christmas with some lovely touches and the owner could not have been any more helpful and friendly. We would love to go back to this property and would recommend it without hesitation, especially if like us you are taking your dogs. Dec 2012.
  2. Extremely well fitted out kitchen. Tea and biscuits set out on arrival most welcome. Beware sloping ceilings. Centrally located for touring Dorset and East Devon. July 2012.
  3. We have been to this property twice now and will be going again next year hopefully. The people who run the enterprise are amongst the most pleasant we have met, very welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. June 2012.
  4. Comfortable and well located. Excellent information on walks and attractions nearby. Plenty of good places to eat in the area including the village pub. May 2012.
  5. We were very fortunate, the guest in our property before us didn’t leave so we were given an even better property! We had a look around 2 Sawmills and it was lovely, ideal accommodation for a stay of any length, friends, family or couple. We had an absolutely fabulous holiday, we could not have asked for better. Feb 2012.
  6. A great cottage with a very friendly and helpful owner. The local village pub is great for home cooked food. The property welcomes pets which is also a bonus. This was our third visit and we would highly recommend it to others. Oct 2011.
  7. The property was all we have come to expect from your company, the main difference with this cottage was the extremely helpful and efficient on site owner who went the extra mile to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The property was very clean, well equipped and comfy, a credit to all involved. Oct 2011.
  8. Good size, spacious and well equipped property in a quiet, well appointed location to explore Dorset, with a well received welcome tray. Easy to walk a dog nearby although the actual garden of the property was a bit small. Nearby pub served reasonable food, as long as you take no notice of the unfriendly owners and realise you need to order your food at the bar. Sept 2011.
  9. We loved the cottage, it was in such a nice spot for peace and tranquillity, and yet so near "must see" places. The local pub food was very good and shops to top up supplies all very near. We loved the fact that most pubs and cafe’s around were dog friendly. Sept 2011.
  10. Lovely village location. Owner lives on site and very friendly and helpful. Everything we needed for a lovely holiday. May 2011.
  11. All possible needs in cottage, even welcOme milk! Welcoming owner, clean everywhere and local Crown pub is superb. Feb 2011.
  12. Very well equipped, spacious and well maintained property. Owner set up Xmas decorations and left milk/tea/coffee & local biscuits for arrival. Really bad weather but owner left heating on all day and place was lovely and comfortable. Easy walk to pub with very good food and drink and nice walks /beaches within very easy traveling. Dec 2010.
  13. Lovely location. Nov 2010.
  14. Very clean and tidy- everything there we could want. Very good all round. Oct 2010.
  15. The property was clean, well equipped and kept and was situated in a quiet location. The owner of the property was very helpful during our stay. Oct 2010.
  16. Clean, spacious, comfortable and warm. Sep 2010.
  17. For us where the cottage was situated was right for the places we wanted to visit. Especially good having taken the dog, was to be able to exercise him in the field provided was a bonus, plus because of the high standard of the cottage we were able to relax immediately when we arrived, no hidden irritations. Sept 2010.
  18. Property was spacious, clean & well furbished. The welcome tray on arrival was a nice touch & very acceptable. June 2010.
  19. Convenient location for visiting Dorset. Once we had got used to the sloping ceilings in the bedrooms (of which we were warned in the publicity) there were no problems! May 2010.
  20. Very spacious, well designed and equipped. May 2010.
