Ideally situated in the heart of the village, attached to the owner’s home with village store and pub next door, this holiday apartment offers a cosy base from which to explore the surrounding countryside. Wonderful walking along Offa’s Dyke, the Herefordshire Trail and Marches Way. Within an easy drive of the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons. Golf, fishing, riding and canoeing can all be found locally. Visit many castles and National Trust properties, and Dore Abbey is within walking distance. Within an easy drive of Hay-on-Wye, known as the book capital of the world, with many craft shops and galleries, also the market towns of Brecon and Abergavenny. Hereford offers shops, eateries, cathedral, the Mappi Mundi Centre and Chained Library. Shop and pub 10 yards.

All on first floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with wooden floor. 1 double bedroom. Shower room with toilet.

Gas central heating and electricity included (£30per week, £15 per short break November-March). Bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Freeview TV. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. On road parking. No smoking. Friday to Friday.

  1. This is a top quality holiday apartment in the centre of the pleasant Herefordshire village of Weyas Harold. The apartment is on the first floor of an attractive converted Georgian building (Note: access is via a staircase with a turn and the door is immediately at the top of the staircase. There is no landing, so it can be a little tricky with luggage). The apartment is largely open-plan and quite spacious, and the quality of the decor and furnishings is very good. The only drawbacks for me were the lack of a bath and washing machine. The lounge/diner is very comfortable, with large windows looking west out over the brook to fields beyond. There is a large flat screen TV with Freeview and Sky, and WiFi is available (best signal is in the bedroom). The bed was very comfortable, with good quality linen. The apartment is very conveniently situated in the heart of the village, close to the village shop (downstairs), pub (next door), butchers (opposite) and excellent fish & chip shop (around the corner). The local bus stop (Pontrilas - Abbey Dore service) is about 30m away, and the main bus stop at Pontrilas (Hereford - Abergavenny services) is about a mile away (it is all on the level, and there is pavement all the way, so it is possible to walk this with a trolley bag - I did). There are lots of good walking opportunities around, including Ewyas Harold Common and Abbey Dore. Overall, I thought that this was an excellent holiday let in a nice location. I’d certainly consider staying here again. Sept 2012.

  3. It is an excellent choice for a couple wanting a village location with good local ameneties. Good village shop, well stocked, with Post Office. Pubs, Fish & Chip Shop and Butchers within a stone’s throw. Choice of several lively churches. Local walks from the village. Steep steps to this 1st floor open-plan apartment. June 2012.

  7. Very well presented, comfortable and stylish apartment, perfectly situated in the heart of the village. Well equipped, great shower, stereo etc. Cooker a little hard to fathom at first, and bedroom could do with a bit more hanging space, but otherwise hard to fault. Oct 2011.

As a couple without children we found this a beautiful property which meet all of our requirements, Ewyas Harold is set in an ideal location on the boarder of wales you can easily access numerous locations. We visited Abergavenny for a canal and railway walk, a variety of castles some smaller local ones such as Skenrith and larger ones like Caerphilly and Raglan Castle. We had a interesting free day out at the bigpit in Blaenavon. As well as local walks in Ewyas Harold we did a trail in the Brecon Beacons which you do not want to miss. As we were south we also traveled to Longleat Safari Park, which was an exciting day as it included crossing the river Severn. We would strongly recommend this property and its location. Oct 2011.

  11. Great place, very comfortable and finished to a very high standard. One thing we didn’t quite realise on booking was the ease of access to the shop, butchers and pub, which are right beside the entrance - it meant we didn’t have to plan our food shopping at all! July 2011.
  12. The flat was absolutely superb with fabulous scenery it was the complete get away from the rat race break that we needed. If its peace quiet and tranquility that you want then look no further than this little corner of wales it is all that you could ask for and more. July 2011.

The personalised "welcome pack" provided by the owners was a refreshing change from the usual attitude these days.
