Property Description

Beautifully converted from a traditional stable and barn, this holiday cottage stands on a smallholding just outside the village of Hope Bowdler on the edge of the Shropshire Hills in an AONB. Visitors enjoy shared use of the 44-acre grounds and there are two well stocked coarse fishing pools available to experienced anglers by prior arrangement. Church Stretton, with good sports amenities, shops, restaurants and pubs is within 2 miles and glorious 6 mile Long Mynd, with gliding, is nearby. Within easy reach are Ironbridge Visitor Centre, Acton Scott Working Farm Museum, Stokesay Castle, Shrewsbury and Ludlow. Walking, bird watching, and golf locally. Pub 1 mile.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with beams. 1 double bedroom with beams. Shower room with toilet.

Electric woodburner in living room included. NSH, electricity and bed linen included. Electric cooker. Microwave. Shared grounds. Parking (1 car). NB: There is an unfenced pond in the grounds.

  7. I can say that the cottage I stayed in was very cosy,well-equipped, in a tranquil setting and the owners very helpful and friendly. I would go there again. Feb 2008.
  8. The area around the property was peaceful and tranquil. Access to the property was easy and the local amenities i.e. (shops and restaurants) were a short distance away. An ideal property for a couple to spend time chilling out. March 2007.
  9. Simple yet very comfortable and cosy accommodation in a lovely setting. Excellent walking right from the doorstep and also well placed for exploring Church Stretton area with wonderful walking in Long Mynd and surrounding hills and valleys. Interesting small market towns like Bishops Castle and Much Wenlock within easy driving distance. March 2007.
  10. The cottage has character, with its exposed beams, and is warm, cosy and peaceful. the owners ( who’s’ property is adjacent) are always pleasant and helpful. I went on my own and really enjoyed my stay. Feb 2006.
