Worthing

The Old School House

| Ref: 29167
Grade 3 Star rating

In a convenient location, within 10 minutes’ drive of historic Arundel and popular Worthing beach, this semi-detached period cottage dates back to the 18th century, and provides spacious, comfortable holiday accommodation with plenty of period features such as original low beams and a wonderful huge inglenook fire in the living room. As well as three spacious bedrooms on the first floor, there is a second living room with sofa bed for alternative sleeping. Set back from the main road in a courtyard setting, with the local pub almost opposite which serves food. In addition, there are a parade of shops, a park and church, all within 100 yards. Nearby Arundel is renowned not only for its historic castle, but its cathedral, church and Wild fowl and Wetlands Park. There are many antique and books shops, plus eateries and inns. Worthing town centre is also close by; it is a popular seaside resort, with a pier, esplanade, plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as a lido and theatre. Why not visit one of the many NT homes and gardens within the area, including West Dean Gardens, Goodwood House, Petworth House and Gardens, to name but a few. The beautiful city of Chichester, with cathedral, harbour boat tours, leisure facilities, Roman villa and Festival Theatre is within easy driving distance, as are Goodwood, the South Downs National Park and Brighton with its various entertainments, including The Royal Pavilion. The picturesque sailing village of Bosham and (slightly further) Portsmouth, with its maritime history, famous Spinnaker Tower landmark, designer shopping and day trips to the Isle of Wight, are within easy reach. For the outdoor enthusiast, scenic walks, watersports, sailing, fishing, birdwatching, cycle routes, riding and golf are all nearby. Shop and restaurants 100 yards, pub 50 yards.
