Property Description

10 minutes’ walk from the beach

This pretty 18th century detached cottage was formerly the village post office, and is only 10 minutes walk from a sandy beach. With a large lawned garden, it is equipped and furnished to offer comfortable holiday accommodation at any time of the year. Good walking and cycle routes are available from the doorstep. Chapel St Leonards is just 10 miles away, and Skegness, with its sandy beaches and Fantasy Island theme park, is just 16 miles. Lincolnshire has undoubtedly some of Britain’s best beaches - enjoy a lovely beach walk from Skegness to Cleethorpes, with plenty of places to stop along the way for refreshments. Visit the RSPB reserve at Gibraltar Point or the Roman town of Horncastle, famous for its curio and antique shops. Other places of interest include Snipe Dales Nature Reserve, Natureland seal sanctuary, Rushmoor Country Park, Hardy’s Animal Farm, and Church Farm museum. Find a green bowlling alley and all weather sports facilities at Sutton on Sea. Swimming pools at Skegness and Louth. Shop 800 yards, pubs and restaurant 1½ miles.

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Lovely old cottage approx 10 minutes walk to beach, very clean, spacious property. Flowers and refreshments left waiting for us. Overall a lovely cottage in good location. Nov 2012.
  2. An excellent property in a quiet location. It was spacious and very clean and well equipped. It had a large secluded garden ideal for children to play in and a barbeque area. Easy walk to the local beach. Small supermarket 5 mins walk in a local caravan site. Larger supermarkets in Mablethorpe and Sutton on the Sea. If we returned to the area we would definitely use the property as it made our holiday. May 2012.
  3. Very well modernised cottage. Described accurately, just bear in mind that although there are 3 bathrooms, only the downstairs one has a shower. Also there isn’t a dishwasher - the kitchen is compact, but has a lovely large dining area attached. March 2012.
  4. Lovely spacious house. Low door frames if you’re over 6 foot tall. Close to the beach but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the main town. Owner went the extra mile and even set up a Christmas tree for us. Would highly recommend The Old Post Office! Dec 2011.
  5. It was a really cosy and warm place to stay with lots of room for the 10 of us. A tray of orange juice, loaf and a pint of milk had been left for us when we arrived which was a lovely gesture. The shop is just down the road and the beach is only 10 mins walk away so it was an ideal place to visit. Dec 2011.
  6. The property was hired for a family weekend to celebrate a 65th birthday. It was a perfect weekend, confortable property, enough space for all and even at that late time of year, some facilities were still open in the nearby locations. Nov 2011.
  7. Ideal large family get away. Well situated with Mablethorpe and Skegness in easy reach by car. Perfect for independant holiday makers who don’t need all the shizzle of large holiday parks. Oct 2011.
  8. Lovely cottage as usual, we have stayed 3 times now. Aug 2011.
  9. This was the 8th year we have booked with cottages 4 you and this was by far the best property yet. Home from home with lots of extra touches even a tray laid ready to make tea on our arrival. June 2011.
  10. The accommodation was lovely, very clean and an excellent location. A nice walk to the beach and provides easy access to the surrounding area. The house was well equipped and was excellent for our family. March 2011.
  11. We had a great time, the cottage was fab only down fall was a sharp knife and a Yorkshire pudding tin would have been an asset but we managed, cant fault it at all, many many thanks for letting us bring 3 dogs - hope we left everything as you had hoped. The Metcalfes. March 2011.
  12. The accommodation was spotless. A plate of biscuits, a jug of orange juice, tea tray set out, fresh flowers in kitchen and lounge, also heating had been set so it was nice, warm and cosy. Oct 2010.
  13. A good looking property with a large and enclosed garden. Pleanty of car parking space. Very well equipped kitchen although we would have liked a knife sharpener. Lots of games, books, DVD’s and beach/garden toys etc. Aug 2010.
  14. Lovely, situated on a quiet country road, not far from lovely beaches. July 2010.
  15. Facilities were what we were looking for. Booking for 2 families we were looking for bedroom/bathroom ratio. This cottage fitted the bill perfectly. Also deep freeze in the cottage was an asset as we prefer to do our own cooking so didn’t have to worry about going food shopping during the week. March 2010.
  16. The location, the size of the property, good value for the money. Feb 2010.
  17. Sufficient bathrooms for a large party of people. Spacious dining area. Feb 2010.
  18. Lovely house, very comfortable. Aug 2009.
  19. Beaches in Trusthorpe and Sutton on Sea very good. Seacote Holiday Park short walk from cottage, excellent value and food open to all. July 2009.
