Property Description

Traditional fishing village / Sea views

This detached fisherman’s cottage is situated just a stone’s throw from the coastline of Portknockie. The Old Net Store has been renovated to provide bright and attractive holiday accommodation whilst retaining a ‘feel’ for the past. On the Moray Firth, this lovely fishing village is an ideal location for touring this unspoilt area. Dolphins and seals are regularly spotted along the coast (boat trips available to view close-to-hand). There is a selection of small shops, pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance. Golf, fishing, riding, cycling and visiting the famous Malt Whisky and Castle Heritage Trails are all highly recommended. Shop 50 yards, pub 120 yards.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room. Kitchen. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Most rooms with wooden floors.

Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. DVD and small library. CD. Gas cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Freezer. Enclosed courtyard and furniture. On road parking. No smoking.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Excellent cottage. It has everything you could need whilst on holiday. Lovely walks nearby for the dogs. Close to Buckie for shopping, although there is a small shop in the village. April 2012.
  2. A beautiful cottage with everything you could wish for. Sept 2011.
  3. Exactly as advertised. Would use again. July 2011.
  4. A fabulous location and quite simply the best cottage we’ve ever stayed in. We would highly recommend staying here. May 2011.
  5. The old Net Store is a lovely small cottage in an absolutely fantastic location. Very comfortable and quiet, with some stunning walks along the cliff tops to Cullen in one direction and to Findochty in the other. We had a dog with us, so these walks were much appreciated. June 2011.
  6. First class accommodation, thoroughly recommended. April 2011.
  7. A beautiful cottage with beautiful fittings. Would have been good to have realised there was no garden before we went - our fault. The gas cooker has no safety feature - turn the knob and the gas flows - you don’t have to hold it in to release gas. March 2011.
  8. Very well equipped, very clean and full of seaside character. More spacious than expected. Aug 2010.
  9. Simply but beautifully furnished. Aug 2010.
  10. The standard of accommodation was very good. July 2010.
  11. The Old Net Store was very pretty and just like a home away from home with all the mod cons but still keeping in character with its surrounding. The cottage was also in an ideal location, 2min walk to the sea. July 2010.
  12. Lovely location, plenty of areas to walk, dog friendly (but had to stow some of the ornaments out of temptations way), nice house, clean, nice bathroom & kitchen. May 2010.
  13. Clean, comfortable, well equipped, great location. May 2010.
  14. Very homely, it had everything we needed and more liked the welcome bottle of wine, thank you. April 2010.
  15. The cottage was well equipped, warm and cosy. It had everything we could possibly want. Beautifully furnished and we could see the sea from the front door. April 2010.
  16. Excellent value for money. Nicely decorated and kitchen well equipped. March 2010.
  17. Really homely, with all the home comforts you would expect in your own home. Well equipped kitchen and homely feel. Feb 2010.
  18. The cottage had many homely touches and felt very comfortable. Very near to the beach and harbour. Oct 2009.
  19. Everything about the property was fantastic, such a wonderful place to stay. Oct 2009.
  20. The cottage had a warm and homely feel to it. All of the rooms were a good size. The dining room was a particular favourite, with its sea views and warm fire. The cottage was furnished with seaside knick-knacks - a nice touch. It’s a shame the weather meant we couldn’t make use of the small courtyard. The kitchen facilities were first-class. A beautiful holiday home. Oct 2009.
