Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. The property is set in a beautiful landscape, with private & relaxing indoor & outdoor space. We were able to go for long walks through the field, visit an amazing nearby National Trust property, and have a riding lesson as well as cosy up in front the fire reading, watching movies or painting. Essentials we recommend; wellies, and warm clothing. Sept 2012.
  2. Such a lovely place. Had a warm and welcoming owner. Beautiful surroundings. May 2012.
  3. This is an amazing cottage and we would recommend everyone to give it a try! Clementina is an excellent host, on hand to make sure that your stay is perfect. The location is lovely, there is nothing better than coming downstairs in the morning and seeing the black swans glide across the lake while you make breakfast. Jan 2012.
  4. The property was absolutely stunning and is fully deserving of its Gold Award. The hosts were amazing and so friendly and we will definitely be staying here again. Dec 2012.
  5. Fantastic location and grounds. Peace and quiet especially once you are inside. The books in the cottage are great and give you a great insight. Cheddar Gorge is great to visit. Will be going back. Dec 2011.
  6. The only problem with this property is that you just don’t want to leave it! Oct 2011.
  7. This property was a very pleasant surprise, the pictures do not do it justice. It is very comfortable. It is in a lovely quiet area but is still close to lots of excellent places to visit. The welcome and help we received throughout our stay was excellent. Oct 2011.
  8. Wonderful, approachable and friendly host. The mill itself is in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. It was a well equipped rental property with a great deal of interesting history. The location was perfect with lots to see and do relatively close by. Sept 2011.
  9. Set in a beautiful location with great rural views. The grounds are lovely with a great variety of trees, shrubs and flowers and a beautiful pond.A great place to relax in the garden in the early/late evenings and loads of walks on the doorstep. The Old Mill has been tastefully designed and furnished whilst maintaining loads of original features blended in with modern things. Recommend visiting the Smokery at Bowdens Farm (nr.Hambridge),the Bell Inn Curry Mallet, the Crown Inn at Fivehead and the Cider Distillery at Burrow Hill (nr.Hambridge). The wildlife is good too - loads of buzzards, sparrowhawks, hobbies, red deer. We even saw a basking grass snake (totally harmless and timid) on an old canal path that leads from Hambridge along to Bowdens Farm. We will definitely return there! Aug 2011.
  10. Wonderful. July 2011.
  11. The Old Mill was lovely and beautifully kept by the owner. It is a wonderful base for a much overlooked gem of an area in Somerset. It was a pleasure to come home to after a full day sightseeing. I’d recommend it to any couple who would appreciate the peaceful, exquisite garden and surroundings, and to anyone who has transport in order to explore the many gardens and stately homes close at hand, or travel only 45 mins in either way to get to the coast. July 2011.
  12. Beautiful setting and house. Hospitality excellent. Lovely welcome and fresh food and champagne in fridge. July 2011.
  13. Site romantic, fantastic location. May 2011.
  14. The best of country chic/loft apartment. Good location if you want to explore Somerset or just relax on the deck overlooking the beautiful garden and countryside. Great host, has got it spot on, we had a perfect romantic four day break. Thank you Clementina. May 2011.
  15. Fantastic modern update to a historic property. We felt instantly at home here. April 2011.
  16. Absolutely the most gorgeous and romantic cottage we have stayed in directly overlooking the millpond and lovely views beyond. We enjoyed long evenings by the wood-burning stove and luxurious soaks in the amazing free-standing bath in the bedroom! Our hostess was very welcoming providing goodies in the fridge for breakfast and even a bottle of Cava to enjoy on our own private terrace. Absolute bliss. Tip: Tyntesfield the National Trust property is a quick whizz up the motorway and well worth a visit. March 2011.
  17. This place only need one word - ’magnificent’. March 2011.
  18. This converted mill house is a perfect place to get away from it all, and very romantic. A river runs through the garden, and the all the views from the windows are of unspoilt countryside. The landlady gives you a very warm welcome. She lives next door: near enough to help you, but you are not overlooked by the main house. There is a very steep staircase into the attic bedroom; it is the original mill steps, but it is carpeted and there is a bannister rail. We were very happy indeed there, and it exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived until we reluctantly had to go home. Feb 2011.
  19. The old mill was a gorgeous retreat, far more lovely than the photos depict, it was spotless and well equipped. Feb 2011.
  20. A magical mill cottage with wonderful hosts and an absolutely idyllic setting. Feb 2011.
