Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Very nice cottage, well-equipped for our uses, good comfortable bed, nice quiet village but with local Spar shop and Post Office, also farm shop selling local produce. Within walking distance of Hope railway station (although limited parking was permitted at the station) enabling rail travel to Manchester and Sheffield. June 2012.
  2. A beautiful cosy cottage, we loved it. Right in the centre of the village of Hope - very close the the Olde Hall Hotel. Dishwasher, towels etc provided - we would thoroughly recommend it. June 2012.
  3. We loved staying in the cottage - it met all our needs, We would return. Initially concerned that the cottage was adjacent to the car park of a local pub. However, we were never disturbed and as we had torrential rain on three evenings it was helpful to have the pub so close. Great views of Winn Hill from the lounge window. Only downside was that TV satellite reception was poor - but as we didn’t go to watch TV it was not a problem that spoilt our enjoyment of the cottage. Fantastic location for walking in the Peak District. May 2012.
  4. Cottage in great location ideal base for walking the northern peak district. Good food at Poachers arms just 5 mins walk. Cottage was spacious for a 2/3 person with a well equipped kitchen. April 2012.
  5. It may help to know that there is no washing machine and washing line. I would prefer this to a dish washer. March 2012.
  6. An excellent cottage, located in an excellent location for exploring the Peak district. Oct 2011.
  7. Property was in a very good location, next to a pub which offered excellent food (there was no problem with noise). Plenty of walks around the area, we could walk to Castleton which was only 1.5 miles away. The train station is only 10 minute walk away which went to either Sheffield or Manchester and was very reasonably priced, there was a very well stock convenience store which had long opening hours. The property was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Only one issue, the bathroom has a sloping roof, I am 5’9" and had to be careful when using the shower. We would definately stay again. Sept 2011.
  8. The cottage was overlooking a carpark which we had not expected but this caused no probs at all so that was fine. If anything, the cottage was actually nicer than we had expected. April 2011.
  9. Good central heating, which we certainly needed. Oct 2010.
  10. Clean & well equipped. Sept 2010.
  11. Warm, spacious for two or three. Superb position, close to shops, pubs P.O. Sept 2010.
  12. Clean and comfortable. Aug 2010.
  13. The cottage was very clean and tidy. There is good parking, and it is very close to the centre of the village. March 2010.
  14. Clean and very comfortable, lovely cosy feel, very well kept. Complimentary tea and coffee (and milk) much appreciated. Feb 2010.
  15. Clean and well presented property with all equipment. Welcome tea and coffee much appreciated. The village of Hope is extremely well located for access to all local attractions, however there are quainter villages with more character nearby. That said there are lots of nice pubs serving good food nearby which are recommended by the locals. Nov 2009.
  16. Perfect location for our interests. Oct 2009.
  17. In most respects this was an excellent property, only let down by the bathroom. The sloping ceiling gave restricted height, making showering almost impossible. Oct 2009.
  18. Very clean and pleasant, but a bit close to the main road so some traffic noise. The small window in the bedroom made it very hot at night. Sept 2009.
  19. Very clean and tidy. Owner left supply of fresh milk, and tea/coffee. Bed very comfortable! July 2009.
  20. A perfect base for great walks, pubs and shops without the need to drive anywhere while you are here. May 2009.
