Property Description

Sunnylands Farm is situated approximately 5 miles from Wimborne and is ideally located on a working farm, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the edge of the hamlet of Uppington. On a clear day there are views across West Dorset and the Isle of Wight! Adjoining one another, these holiday homes were formerly the old dairy and provide very comfortable accommodation. The orchard can be enjoyed for a picnic which leads to a footpath down to the pretty village of Hinton Martell. Within easy reach is the New Forest National Park, Poole Harbour, Bournemouth, Christchurch and the Purbecks with NT Corfe Castle and the seaside town of Swanage. Famous as ‘Hardy country’, many of Dorset’s towns and landmarks are recognisable from the novels of Thomas Hardy, who was born near Dorchester in Dorset. The county is renowned for its miles of beautiful unspoilt beaches as well as for the Jurassic Coast coastline – a World Heritage site. Shop 2 miles and pub 3 miles.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. This property is perfect for a weekend romantic get away, it is fully equipped and very clean. The owner also provides some basic provisions which is also very thoughtful. set in a peaceful location with plenty of places for walking. Neighbours and owner very friendly would definitely recommend to others and visit again! March 2012.
  2. The cottage was lovely and the owners left locally sourced food and drink for us. They were friendly and welcoming but left us to enjoy our holiday in peace. Excellent! Would strongly recommend to anyone. March 2012.
  3. Extremely comfortable with all mod cons. Immaculate and very clean. We were delighted with the accommodation. The owner very kindly left us a welcome pack of eggs, bacon, bread, milk butter and jam on arrival which was a lovely touch. Very peaceful location and suited us very well. April 2011.
  4. Lovely place to stay. We particularly appreciated the food provided. We hadn’t expected that. We really enjoyed our weekend. April 2011.
  5. A car is a must have. The shower room is excellent, although it needs a grab handle to assist the disabled. The owners provide an excellent service throughout. May 2011.
  6. We had a very nice stay here and would like to return. The accommodation has everything that you need. The access drive is a bit bumpy, but is not a problem. The location is rural and very peaceful. You can walk to the Village via a footpath, but there are no shops. We were told by our friendly host’s that a pub was nearby, but I never found it. You cannot really eat out unless you drive somewhere. We did discover a lovely bluebell wood and heard our first cookoo of the year. Overall a lovely quiet spot and a good base for days out. You can sit reading in the quiet secluded courtyard, or going for walks. It is an ideal location for a relaxing break . April 2011.
