Celebrating excellent views over the surrounding countryside and superb walks from the door, with numerous local footpaths, the Old Byre makes an ideal base for visiting all the attractions the Peak District has to offer including Chatsworth House, Alton Towers (just 10 minutes away) Haddon Hall, Carsington Water, Cheddleton Steam Railway, Rudyard Lake and Meerbook Reservoir to name just a few. Shop 21/2 miles, pub 1 mile.

Owners absolutely lovely - we will be remembered as our dalmatian unfortunately caught one of their free range hens but they were wonderful about it (very sorry again !).   9. Superbly furnished, nice welcoming touches - home made shortbread and milk provided, as well as tea and coffee. All the things you might forget like washing up liquid. Even bubble bath to relax with great attention to detail. Excellent attention to detail beautifully furnished through out - good designer touch with cushions and throws in the bedroom. Kitchen well laid out and excellently equipped - small helpful things like cooking oil and salt and pepper provided. The most relaxing stress free holiday experience I have had.   11. A well situated 2 bedroom property with fantastic views overlooking the peak district. The place was furnished to a high standard and had everything you needed for a self catering cottage. There was an extra special touch with some home made biscuits and availability of tea and coffee on arrival. All of it was topped off by the very welcoming and friendly owners who were very helpful during our stay. Aug 2010.

  14. The quality of this property is by far the highest I have seen to date, it has been finished to a very high standard and is well maintained. The views are outstanding, who needs a TV when you can watch the sky over the moorlands. It was exceptionally clean - I could not find a spec of dirt anywhere. The furnishings were well chosen and the attention to detail really brought out the best of each room. The bedclothes and towels were of hotel standards, there was plenty of hot water and the cottage was very warm and welcoming. It was so nice to stay in such a lovely place where our two dogs were made as welcome as we were. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and allowed us to use their fields to exercise the dogs.
