This delightful barn conversion is set in a pretty rural location on the edge of the picturesque village of Galphay, just a 10-minute drive from historic Ripon. An ideal holiday location from which to tour the Yorkshire Dales with Harrogate and York easily accessible. Carefully converted, it blends traditional features such as exposed stonework, flagged floors and beams together with a cosy woodburner, carefully co-ordinated furnishings and fabrics to create a wonderful ambient atmosphere. The enclosed, private courtyard features a hot tub and barbecue. Shop 1½ miles. Pub and restaurant 1 mile.

This property is close to the 2014 Tour de France route, come and experience the spectacular scenery for yourself and follow in the trail of some true cycling legends.

Only drawbacks were the cottage is in quite an isolated position and could not get mobile phone signal. Cottage may benefit from a coin phone. Otherwise, the perfect holiday in the perfect cottage!   5. We had a long weekend at the barn for an early christmas break. We found the barn absolutely gorgeous and could not fault a thing, it has been finished to a very very high standard. The hot tub in the courtyard is a brilliant extra, even if it’s cold it worth getting into your costume for, you will be glad you did. We enjoyed a glass of champagne in the hot tub and even had a little snow. Absolutely gorgeous place, would recommend to anyone. Dec 2011.

  13. A superb cottage, took a while to find our way around, a good sat nav helped! Fountains Abbey, Brimham Rocks, Ripon town and Ripon Cathedral all well worth visiting. Ripon has the luxury of Morrisons, Sainsburys and Booths supermarkets. Do visit Ripon for the 9pm ceremony of the horn blower in the market square, a ceremony unbroken for 1125 years. June 2011.
