1. These terms and conditions should be read with the Booking Conditions and insurance information in our brochures or on our website. Especially note Sections 2, 4 and 7 of the Booking Conditions
2. Offer applies only to bookings for 2014 which are booked before 13th April 2014.
3. The low deposit payable under this offer is £25.
4. Does not apply to properties that sleep 10 or more.
5. The difference between the £25 low  deposit and the usual deposit shown in our main brochure or website is payable with the balance payment, which we must receive no later than 10 weeks before your booking starts, or at the time of cancellation if you cancel your booking. This payment will include all applicable charges as detailed on your booking confirmation, including any insurance premiums and any Ferry costs. If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason. If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately.

7. Depending on popularity and property availability, this offer may be extended or withdrawn.

Property Description

Once the old village bakery (and more recently a shop), this pretty detached cottage has been totally renovated providing a spacious, bright and airy holiday home. With beams, an exposed brick wall and natural floors, it exudes much character yet provides all modern amenities, and is set in a slightly elevated position overlooking a cottage garden with an abundance of wisteria. Close by is the historic city of Ely with imposing cathedral, attractive river and good selection of individual shops, pubs, restaurants and tearooms. Within a 30-minute drive lies the city of Cambridge with its art galleries, colleges, botanical gardens and punts on the River Cam. Also close by is Newmarket for stud farms and racing. Shop 400 yards, pub 100 yards.

  4. A delightful property, fantastic for a family with small children - the kitchen was well-equipped and the bedrooms were clean and comfortable. We stayed over Christmas and were delighted to find a beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the sitting room on arrival - the kids were very pleased! The house is well-located for local shops and a park, and it’s very easy to get to the shops and supermarkets in Ely. We will certainly look to stay at the Old Bakery again if we’re in the area... One point to note though, bring a changing mat and bath mat if you have a small baby, these are the only things we found missing. Dec 2011.

  6. A very pleasant family holiday in a lovely setting and spacious, well-equipped property. Secure garden for toddlers, and interesting places quite near buy for days out. We had a very pleasant time and would happily come again. On a practical note, the drop-latches were becoming bent and will need straightening up because otherwise the doors won’t shut! June 2011.
  7. it was great being just across the road from The Plough pub which serves fantastic thai food and the host Pete is really welcoming, we had some great nights in there. Nearby Ely is a lovely place, we couldn’t believe their car parks were free. Great cottage, very cosy and beds comfortable, would return. March 2011.

  10. The property was ideal for our requirement for somewhere reasonably priced with 4 single bedrooms and suitable space to play chamber music. Just as importantly it was adequately heated as we were obviously indoors most of the weekend. Nov 2010.
