Property Description

The Old Bakery is a beautifully converted Grade II listed property in the perfect holiday location for exploring the local area. Situated in the historic market town of Wendover there is ample opportunity to visit one of its many historic buildings, restaurants or traditional pubs. The market itself is still a weekly attraction every Thursday, and provides the town with local fayre and produce. This is the perfect location to enjoy one of the many walks or cycle paths which surround the area. Enjoying breathtaking views from nearby Coombe Hill. Shops 200 yards, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

6 steps down to entrance. Ground floor: Living room with tiled floor. Kitchen with tiled floor. Bathroom with shower over bath, toilet. Open-tread stairs to first floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 single with beams.

Electricity ‘woodburner’ included. Gas central heating (underfloor on ground floor), electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Freezer. Enclosed lawned garden with patio and furniture. Barbecue. On road parking. Welcome pack. No smoking. Friday to Friday.

  1. Lovely period property brought up to date with first class decor and fittings. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It is a short stroll into Wendover village which has several good pubs and restaurants and there is a shop (which stays open late) just down the road. June 2012.
  2. Lovely cosy cottage, if the weather had been better would have been great to sit out in the backyard in the evening! Kitchen was really well stocked with pots, pans, utensils etc & great shower. June 2012.
  3. Lovely modern cottage, clean and warm and quiet. It would be helpful to have more pyrex type dishes, small bowls and plates etc. There were only 3 large and 3 small plates provided - so a bit difficult to cook meals/ use the microwave. There was a full set of saucepans and roasting dishes which was great. April 2012.
  4. Despite its location on a fairly main road, the cottage was incredibly quiet and peaceful. That, along with the quality of the decoration, fixtures and fittings, as well as its convenient location for town, made the holiday perfect. April 2012.

  9. This cottage has everything and more, excellent accommodation, cannot fault anything at all. Several pubs and restaurants within walking distance, we visited the Red Lion Hotel and the Shoulder & Mutton both served meals and can recommend. Oct 2011.

I found this tiny cottage ideal for our romantic weekend get away and could not criticise the accommodation in any way, it has been very tastefully and sympathetically renovated, everything and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The photographs on the web site do not do this little cottage justice, we were pleasantly surprised as we walked through the door. We would not hesitate to book this cottage again. Oct 2011.

  13. Very nice charming cottages kitted out with all necessary kitchen and domestic equipment. We were impressed that the Scrabble set came with a dictionary of the Official Scrabble Words! We recommend the Bucks and West Mids Ramblers Association website for excellent and very well-described walks of varying difficulty in the region. June 2011.

  16. The Old Bakery was probably one of the best presented cottages we have stayed in over the years: everything was brand new and of good quality. The owners obviously have put a lot of effort into preparing it for letting and we could think of nothing we needed that wasn’t provided. Although on a busy road, the property was very quiet at night. April 2011.
