Two 18th-century converted stone barns set in a private valley, 1200 ft up in the Cambrian Mountains, and situated on a small holding with 24 acres of forest, ancient trees, little streams, natural gardens and adjoining 2000 acres of heather-clad moorland. A haven for nature lovers, walkers, those seeking tranquillity and couples looking for a romantic hideaway. This is a private and peaceful setting, far away from the noise of traffic and the stress of city life. Surrounded by the border towns of Knighton, Presteigne, Ludlow, Leominster and Hay-on-Wye, this is a wonderful base to explore this diverse and flourishing region. There is also a great folk and country music scene locally. The coast can be reached within 1 hour 20 minutes.
Llethrau Barn (0F2) is a stunning ’chalet barn’, which boasts atmospheric interiors, a beautiful greenhouse/garden breakfast room and a writers desk. Llethrau Long Barn (OF6) is a beautiful converted barn which has a large oak dining table, antique chairs and a writers desk with inspirational views. Both properties include a variety of books and board games, and have shared use of an undercover area for storing bicycles. Shop and pub 3 miles.

  1. Property was lovely but very isolated. It was not possible to walk to any local pubs or restaurants. The owners were very welcoming and couldn’t have been more obliging. The porperty is also excellent if you have a dog as the garden is fully enclosed. Great stock of books and dvd’s if the weather poor (and it was!). June 2012.
  2. Set three miles off the main road, it is quite isolated (which is what we wanted). The nearest shop is six mile away so it is important to take you food and drink requirements with you. March 2012.
