North of Hartland Point lies the village of Clovelly, one of the most visited destinations in Devon, with white-washed 16th-century cottages on the clifftop. Shops 5 miles.

  4. Linhay is an ideal base to explore North Devon coast. Comfortable and warm, very well decorated and furnished and in a lovely secluded location in the North Devon lanes. Visit Welcombe Mouth, Sandy Mouth for good old fashioned beautiful beach and coastal walk experiences. Bude and Westward Ho are close enough for those wanting more facilities by the seaside. Eat out for good pub grub at The Old Smithy at Welcombe but book first its busy in holiday season. Same for the Hart at Hartland (also two good shops here). Hartland Quay Hotel is another to visit to eat pub grub. The coast and views here are stunning! Take a walk around the field out back of the Linhay, the coast view is stunning, the wildlife is not to be missed. You will get Woodpeckers, Tits and many other wild birds if you put a few fat balls in the feeder on tree out back. Buzzards are a plenty see them atop many of the telegraph poles in the lanes.
