Property Description

Romers Farm consists of two semi-detached properties situated in the owner’s grounds on a working farm, in the village of Bockleton, near to the historic market town of Tenbury Wells. The former Hop Kiln and Wainhouse have been sympathetically converted, retaining many original features, and provide two spacious and comfortable holiday properties. This is an excellent base from which to explore Worcestershire, Shropshire and Herefordshire with a wealth of activities. A short drive takes you to Ludlow, famous for its castle, festivals, quaint streets, shops and open markets; it also has an abundance of restaurants and eateries for fine dining, some Michelin starred, and it is a definite must for a visit. The area boasts an abundance of National Trust properties including Berrington Hall, Croft Castle, Hampton Court Gardens and the Brockhampton Estate, all within easy driving distance. Enjoy a day out to the cathedral cities of Worcester, Hereford and Gloucester and the abbey at Tewkesbury. For the more active there is golf, horse riding and carp fishing available locally. Offa’s Dyke and the Malvern Hills, for serious walkers, are within easy reach. Book lovers can enjoy a trip to the renowned book town of Hay-on-Wye whilst theatre lovers can venture out to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare, and the home of Anne Hathaway with her beautiful cottage. Perhaps you would prefer to sit and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the unspoilt countryside and woodlands close by, or observe the activities on this working farm. Whatever you choose to do, one holiday may not be enough! Shops, pubs and restaurants 4 miles. NB: Properties 25341 and 25340 can be booked together to accommodate up to 18 guests.

Ground floor: Living room with patio doors and beams/dining room with beams/kitchen. Second living room. Separate toilet. First floor: 4 bedrooms with Velux: 1 double with en-suite shower room with toilet, 3 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. A large cottage that will sleep and eat 8. Great for young families - no chintz to be broken, loads of space, a playground and a living food waste disposal unit (the farmyard pig! - cleaning up after a meal has never been so anticipated). As with most country locations, mobile reception inside poor, better (but not great) outside, but it is there. May 2012.
  2. Spacious, so if you take children there is plenty of room on wet days! There is an enclosed playground for children. All wood floors downstairs - easy for quick clean up. Plenty of places(specially castles) to visit from here within reasonable travel time - recommend Goodrich and Stokesay. Ludlow, Leominster and Tenbury Wells worth a visit - do the town trail in Tenbury Wells! We had supermarket deliver groceries for the week, but Tenbury good for anything needed and it seemed a friendly place. Owners friendly. April 2012.
  3. We had a fantastic stay at Romers Farm. Accommodation very spacious with fantastic views and great little walks. Enjoyed a stroll through the farm while the Cows & sheep Checked us out. Colin & Jane absolutely fantastic & very friendly, nothing was too much rouble. helped us to enjoy a Christmas with the family. March 2012.
  4. Welcoming owners. Excellent very clean accommodation furnished to a high standard throughout. Peaceful & tranquil. Lovely walks from the cottage. Places to visit only a short drive away are Berrington Hall ( National Trust) Hampton Court Gardens and of course a visit to Ludlow. Sept 2011.
  5. The property was in a lovely quiet location, and the owner was very friendly and helpful. We were very impressed with the high standard and comfort of the accommodation, and the facilities and we very much enjoyed exploring the locality. Overall a great holiday and would highly recommend to others. Aug 2011.
  6. A fabulous cottage that is suitable for both a family holiday or a get together with friends. Colin and Jane were very helpful and provided lots of good ideas on places to visit that were suitable for little children. My nieces and nephews really enjoyed the animals on the farm and the walks around the fields. The cottage was extremely well kitted out and even had a separate alcove area with a TV that we were able to use for the children’s play area. Aug 2011.
  7. Lovely accommodation, just what we were looking for. Owners really lovely and invited us in their house to see their puppies! Fantastic weekend. Feb 2011.
  8. Very spacious, clean and better life outlook than was presented by the internet pics. Facilities outstanding. We would not hesitate to go back in the future should the opportunity arise. Dec 2010.
  9. The property was newly refurbished and everything was in good working order. Modern and bright with well appointed bedrooms. We were a party of 4 adults in 8 berth accommodation so there was plenty of room for us but it would also provide very good accommodation for 8 people both upstairs and downstairs. Sept 2010.
