Property Description

The Hop Kiln is located in the heart of walking country, down a long drive close to the owner’s 16th century farmhouse. There is stabling and grazing available for guests’ horses at cost. An ideal holiday base for exploring the Welsh Marches, Clee Hill and the Mortimer Forest. Ludlow, 5 miles. The market town of Tenbury Wells with shops and pubs is 2 miles away.

8 steps to entrance. Ground floor: Dining room/kitchen with wooden floor. 1 twin bedroom. Bathroom with roll top bath, shower attachment and toilet (also accessed from twin room). First floor: Living room. Second floor: 1 double (5ft) bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet.

Woodburner in living room included. Oil central heating included (£20per week November-March). Electricity, bed linen and towels included. Satellite TV. DVD and small library. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Use of tumble dryer. Dishwasher. Freezer. Wi-fi. Enclosed courtyard and furniture. Lawned area and picnic bench. Barbecue. Parking (3 cars). Two pets welcome (next door to working farm). No smoking.

  1. An excellent cosy winter retreat. We walked into Tenbury Wells along the quiet country lanes on a beautiful crisp freezing day. Takes about 40 mins and there are plenty of pubs or coffee shops for a warm up before returning to the lovely cottage. On our walk, we had a drink in the Rose and Crown pub, on the main road in. Very cosy pub with an open fire and a pool table. Dec 2012.

  4. The accommodation was excellent and different to other cottages we have had before.Although next to owners house you have your own private entrance and courtyard. Within easy reach, by car, to places of interest. Owners have two geese which we found highly amusing. April 2012.

  6. Well, I didn’t see a visitor’s book - that may be my only negative comment! The Hop Kiln was perfect for our needs (2 adults, 1 toddler); roomy, airy, but cosy too; all the resources we needed; close to footpaths. Couldn’t have been better! Jan 2012.

  10. The hop kiln is superb. It looks nice on the photos but even better when you arrive. You have your own parking away from the main house so there is privacy. The owners were very friendly but also ’left you alone’ to enjoy your weekend. This really is a beautiful place to stay. Dec 2010.

If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason. If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately..
