Property Description

Set in an AONB, The Hideaway enjoys countryside views, and makes a wonderful base for a holiday. One side of the house is made up of glazed doors allowing the scenery to be enjoyed from all principal rooms. The famous Jurassic coast is 9 miles. Dorchester, 6 miles. Enjoy days out at the resort of Weymouth, Abbotsbury Swannery and Sub-tropical Gardens, Cerne Abbas chalk giant, and many villages. Shops 1 miles, pubs 21/2 miles.

All on ground floor: Living room with wall of glass doors and wooden floor. Dining room/kitchen. 2 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft) with French doors and en-suite shower room with double shower cubicle and toilet, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot and high chair on request. Video/DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Tumble dryer. Dishwasher. Freezer. Large field with football goal, badminton nets and swing ball. Garden with raised patio area and furniture. Barbecue. Ample parking. No smoking. Easy walking access. No children under 10 years (except babes in arms).

  1. This was a delightful place to stay. Couldn’t fault it at all and the "welcome" tray was lovely as the only tiny fault was the nearest shop was at a local garage a couple of miles away. Without a car there was not a lot to do but if you like just sitting in front of the complete wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, it was a delight to watch the wildlife. We had only just arrived and saw a pair of buzzards. The deer were seen too, the owner was more than able to give us details of places to go and didn’t mind us calling for assistance with the television!! All in all it was a beautiful place to celebrate our Golden Wedding - with a lovely meal at the nearby Saxon Arms!! Sept 2012.
  2. The cottage exceeded our expatations, wonderful wildlife on the doorstep, magnificent scenery from all main rooms, cottage well equipped, friendly and helpfull owner. Will be going again and booked already for next year. June 2012.
  3. This really was a great location, fantastic views, wildlife in the gardens. The accommodation was perfect for my mother, who has mobility problems - all one level and really safe. But would be just as great for families with children. Spacious accommodation and clean as a ’new pin’. A great welcome pack and lovely owners who were welcoming and happy to help. I can’t tell you how delighted we were, even if it did rain for a whole week! June 2012.
  4. The property is breathtaking with view to match. The wildlife was in abundance, you can spend all day just looking around at the different things. This is our 2nd visit and we will be going back again. May 2012.

  6. This was our second visit and the accommodation is so wonderful that we immediately booked for a third visit when we returned home! It is spotlessly clean, has a lovely welcome pack of food and drink and is extremely well equipped and comfortable. It is so relaxing just looking out over the hills even if the weather is not at its best! It is the best cottage we have ever stayed in and we would recommend it to anyone! Oct 2011.

  8. This is an ideal holiday home where you could relax at the property and not feel you had to go out each day. My daughter had recently not been very well so we enjoyed relaxing at the home playing games in the paddock, enjoying playing the giant chess set, eating on the patio and just relaxing. July 2011.

  10. We had a very enjoyable stay in a very comfortable, clean and well appointed property. The owner had given us a welcome tray of goodies which was really appreciated and he is also very helpful. The location is superb not only for the outstanding view of the Dorset countryside but for the privacy you get. We will go back again next year. July 2011.

  20. This was the best place we had ever stayed in. It was immaculate and had everything you could possibly need and a wonderful welcome package. The owner was very informative about things to do in the area. I expected a lovely place after looking at the website and previous comments, but it actually exceeded what I had hoped for! I would not hesitate to go again and recommend this to others. Absolutely fantastic and it’s a shame not every cottage is equipped and presented as well as this one. It’s a credit to the owner!
