Set in the heart of the beautiful Northumbrian countryside nestles The Grange; an attractive stone built detached self catering holiday cottage that oozes style and character. Formerly a quirky barn and now transformed to offer elegant and spacious holiday accommodation, the cottage is snuggled in the tiny hamlet known as Berrington Lough. The property is surrounded by uninterrupted vistas of farmland and makes an idyllic rural retreat. Immaculately presented throughout, it retains many lovely features such as trusses and exposed beams. The spacious sitting room enjoys lovely triple aspect views and the smart dining area also boasts a light filled ambience courtesy of French doors where there is an additional comfortable seating area overlooking the south facing patio area. The contemporary kitchen is extremely well equipped. All three double bedrooms (en suite to master) and the fresh family bathroom are on the first floor offering superb long distance views.
The Grange boasts a peaceful, tranquil position yet is only 8 miles from the elegant Georgian town of Berwick, which straddles the salmon rich River Tweed. Here there are many amenities available including indoor swimming, a wide selection of shops, a cinema/theatre and pubs/restaurants. A regular train service is the perfect way to explore further afield; the cities of Newcastle to the south and Edinburgh to the North are virtually equidistant and both easily accessible. More local facilities are available in Lowick village, only 4 miles from The Grange.
This is England’s Borderland and often referred to as "the secret kingdom" - the Scottish Borders are only 13 miles north ensuring The Grange is a superb rural retreat from which to explore the Northumbrian countryside and the Heritage coastline with easy access to the Scottish Borders too.
