Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. A worthwhile Folly, excellent location. May 2012.
  2. The Folly is a fantastic place for a short break. It’s highly unusual and the view from the roof is worth the trip alone. We had a thoroughly enjoyably visit, the owners were extremely helpful, and despite being situated in their garden their presence was never intrusive. Being an older property the heating is not the best and the mornings were pretty chilly. Hambleton is a lovely little village and be the near by Bat and Ball Pub is great and the food sublime. May 2012.
  3. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Folly. The weather was cool and we found our accommodation so cosy and comfortable to return to after our lovely scenic walks. The location was perfect, being so close to a number of pubs,to other small villages of interest and of course the local tea rooms with their scones and clotted cream! The peace and quiet of the area with only the sound of gentle church bells was so charming and relaxing. May 2012.
  4. Outstanding local scenery and walks around the countryside with friendly natives. A most peaceful place with a village shop. The hosts were very helpful and considerate. The only advice for others planning to staying here would be to consider whether or not you would be able to negotiate the steep stairs from the ground floor kitchen up to the lounge and bedroom on floor at the top of the folly. March 2012.
  5. What an experience! We loved staying in this Grade II listed folly. Really good fun, and the owners were very kind and helpful. We will recommend it to our family and friends. Dec 2011.
  6. Unfortunately we forgot to write in the visitors book. Our stay was absolutely brilliant and I cannot recommend it too highly. It is certainly a quirky place but that only added to the fun. You do have to be good with steep narrow stairs but what an experience especially the view from the roof. You MUST go up on the roof and the colder and darker the sky, the more you will enjoy it. Take a torch! Nov 2011.
  7. Very interesting propoerty ... it being a ’Folly’. Sept 2011.
  8. Property was brilliant, lovely and quiet with excellent views. Owners were helpful. Stairs were not a problem as long as care taken. Great views from roof top, excellent place for breakfast or an evening drink. July 2011.
  9. This is a unique property with great views in a picturesque landscape. The use of the pool was a bonus and we used it every morning. Even though it was a little small it was ideal for 2 people offering something a bit different. I would recommend it. July 2011.
  10. Fantastic, quirky property. Being able to use the roof terrace was a real bonus, we had a very peaceful break. May 2011.
  11. The fact that it was a unique building and was situated in a very quiet location. Feb 2011.
  12. Incredible four way viewpoint windows, especially brilliant when waking up with the sun shining! Jan 2011.
  13. This is a wonderfully individual property, an excellent retreat from the world and very appropriate for a romantic getaway! Very comfortable accommodation (although you need a certain level of fitness to climb the stairs to the various levels) and friendly and helpful hosts. Dec 2010.
  14. The folly was great fun to stay in with comfortable accommodation and thought had been made with the finishing touches. Oct 2010.
  15. The folly is an usually quirky tower set in a quaint old English village next to an ancient church. Excitingly it is set on four floors with amazing views from the rooftop that is just right for stargazing! The Folly has everything you could need for a comfortable relaxing stay and the use of the owners indoor private pool was an added bonus! Aug 2010.
  16. Small but cosy. All conveniences present, nice location, great view from top floors. July 2010.
  17. Wonderful tranquil location, ideal for a romantic break. July 2010.
  18. A quirky little place, excellent for a short break. The property was well maintained and well equipped. The views from the roof were lovely. It was great to have use of the swimming pool as well. April 2010.
  19. This particular property was a quirkey shaped being a folly and the veiws were stunning from the top as it was over 4 floors. March 2010.
  20. Quirky, novel place to stay. Feb 2010.
