Property Description

The Farmhouse is a detached, Grade II, listed 17th-century Tudor brick house and sits next to the owner’s golf club, hotel and spa. This large, well-presented and equipped house offers an ideal place to base a family holiday or a short break with friends or family. It has its own private drive and garden and guests have use of the facilities at the golf club and spa. The spa has a swimming pool, hot tub, gym, steam room, Jacuzzi, spa treatments and hairdresser (some facilities at extra cost, reccommended to book ahead if you are consirdering to have Spa treatment while you are staying). The championship golf course is 6,904 yards, par 71, and is set in 160 acres. It also has driving range, academy course, chipping and pitching green. The club house has a bar and restaurant which has live music most evenings and Sunday lunchtimes. Nearby, enjoy the Ferndown, Stour and Forest Trail and Stour Valley Way. Further afield are the many coastal and inland footpaths including the Dorset Coastal Path enjoying the Jurassic coastline. The local area has two popular parks: Avon Heath Country Park and Moors Valley Country Park. The nearest traffic-free cycle paths are in Hurn Forest and Castleman Trail. There are many all over the New Forest National Park, where wild ponies roam freely among miles of heath land. There are also many other places of interest to visit within the area, such as the village of Burley, Exbury Gardens and Beaulieu Motor Museum. Regular ferries to the Isle of Wight depart from the famous royal yachting town of Lymington. Bournemouth is close by with its Blue Flag beach, well kept town gardens, trips on the Bournemouth Eye, which rises high above the town to give the most amazing panoramic views over the whole area. At the foot of the pier is the fascinating Oceanarium where the whole family can discover life beneath the waves. Poole is within easy reach, with its sandy beach at Sandbanks and the harbour town where trips to Brownsea Island (NT) can be enjoyed. Shop ½ mile, pub ¼ mile, restaurant on site, beach 9 miles.

  2. This large house had no dinning room only a very large circular table in the middle of the kitchen. If you were all eating in it was difficult to open the oven one side of the kitchen or the fridge on the other side. It would have been nice to have a separate dinning room. Aug 2012.

  4. The Dudsbury Farmhouse was fantastic, very spacious and very well equipped. The staff at the hotel/golf club were very helpful and the use of the spa in the hotel was an extra bonus. We had a lovely time and would definitely recommend this property to other holiday makers! March 2012.

  6. We rented this house for a murder mystery weekend with friends for my wife’s 30th birthday. The house was the perfect location for a murder mystery with multiple stairways and corridors, brilliant for exploring and creeping around! Most bedrooms were en-suite and all were very roomy. The use of the spa facilities at the neighbouring golf club was a great bonus and a group of us enjoyed using the pool, steam room, sauna & hot tub. There are also several pubs in close walking distance and some lakes to wander around very close by. Really recommend the Farmhouse for gatherings of family & friends. Feb 2012.
  7. I booked the Farmhouse as we were looking for a property which could accommodate 11 of us. Most of the bedrooms had beautifully fitted en suite. Our son and us shared the downstairs bathroom which was through the kitchen, which we didn’t mind doing. The kitchen was well appointed and allowed us to cook our late "Xmas and Boxing Day" in mid-January feasts! We asked if we could stay a bit later on the day of departure so we could enjoy an early lunch as we had loads of food left over, which the owners very kindly agreed to. I would recommend the Farmhouse without hesitation. Jan 2012.
  8. The ’Farmhouse’ was very comfortable and well situated. However, over the New Year it was disappointing that there was no log fire. The nearby hotel facilities added to the overall experience. Dec 2011.
