Property Description

Easy driving distance to the city of Chester

Sympathetically converted farm buildings, retaining original features, offering a very good standard of accommodation. Located at the end of an unmade road, they sit quietly in this rural community, yet they are within easy driving distance of the city of Chester, famous for being a walled city with its unique half timbered galleried shops and its Victorian Eastgate clock - said to be the most photographed timepiece in the world after Big Ben. Shops, restaurants and history are all to be found here. Chester has the largest amphitheatre in Britain, a 10th century cathedral, two renowned museums - the Grosvenor and Military Museums, and not forgetting the zoo! The walk around the walls is approximately 2 miles and offers a birdseye view of the city centre with views across to Wales’ magnificent mountains. Cheshire Oaks retail outlet village is a short drive away. At the end of the lane is the Beachin therapy swimming pool for dogs. Malpas, with its magpie style houses, Beeston with its castle, Tattenhall where the Cheshire Farm Dairy ice cream is made and Farndon which links Cheshire to Wales by a sandstone bridge are all an easy drive. Cheshire is also the gateway to some of the finest English countryside and Welsh borderlands. Shop 5 miles, pub 2 miles.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with tiled floor. Second living room. Utility room. Separate toilet. First floor: 3 bedrooms: 2 double, one with en-suite shower room and toilet, 1 twin. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet.

Dishwasher. Enclosed courtyard and furniture.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Ideal accommodation for two families or two couples sharing. The additon of another sitting room is brilliant. June 2012.
  2. A very nice cottage and friendly owner. March 2012.
  3. An excellent property, very spacious for our family of 5. Would highly recommend. Feb 2012.
  4. We booked the cottage as we had to come down for a family emergency (serious illness) and had to bring out dogs with us. The cottage was very pleasant. It was very thoughtful to have a half litre of milk in the fridge so we could have a cup of tea without worrying about finding shops. Although it was early January the weather, despite being very cold, was bright and sunny. The restfulness of the location and cottage made a very difficult time much easier. Jan 2012.
  5. Have stayed at Drift House before and more than likely stay again.Owners provide everything you need even down to milk when you arrive so you dont have to go shop hunting. Nov 2011.
  6. The cottages may seem in the middle of nowhere - on a farm at the end of an unmade road, but the location is great. Really near to Chester, and easy to get onto motorways. Really nice touch with tea, coffee and milk waiting for you. house decorated to an excellent standard. We asked for a cot, which was too small for a 20 month old, so we got someone else to bring a travel cot, they left a stair gate in case we needed one. Sept 2011.
  7. Good location visiting North Wales, Chester, Liverpool and Stoke on Trent. Accomodation ideal, four adults, two children and two dogs and we had plenty of room. June 2011.
  8. The cottage is very nice but is a little far from amenities and doesn’t directly benefit from a view, however it was very spacious and well equipped. We did think the second lounge was wasted and the beds were a bit firm but overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay. May 2011.
  9. Wonderful, spacious, comfortable, well equipped cottage, which is really dog friendly. Quiet country location, but easy access to Chester for big city shopping and Roman history. Local places worth a visit include Beeston Castle (very dog friendly), the beautiful gardens at Cholmondley Castle (again very dog friendly). Bickerton Hill on the Sandstone Trail has great views, and the Bickerton Poacher pub does excellent food. Our 5th visit to this cottage complex, and we will be returning again. April 2011.
  10. Property a lovely barn conversion, plenty of space for the six in our party. April 2011.
  11. The property was spacious and very comfortable. Nov 2010.
  12. Very spacious. Dec 2010.
  13. All bedrooms are very spacious, light and airy. June 2010.
  14. Lovely and clean, very spacious. June 2010.
  15. Lovely cottage in peaceful surrondings. Cottage was clean and well equipped. May 2010.
  16. Spacious and well thought out. Particularly liked the two living areas. March 2010.
  17. Clean, spacious and warm. Dec 2009.
  18. The cottage was beautiful, clean and extremely well presented. The two lounges were fantastic, especially if you have children with you. Dec 2009.
  19. Excellent space well equipped and very clean and comfortable. beds were a bit hard though! Nov 2009.
  20. 2 doubles and a twin, plus additional camper beds - there was loads of room! Oct 2009
