1. These terms and conditions should be read with the Booking Conditions and insurance information in our brochures or on our website. Especially note Sections 2, 4 and 7 of the Booking Conditions
2. Offer applies only to bookings for 2014 which are booked before 13th April 2014.
3. The low deposit payable under this offer is £25.
4. Does not apply to properties that sleep 10 or more.
5. The difference between the £25 low  deposit and the usual deposit shown in our main brochure or website is payable with the balance payment, which we must receive no later than 10 weeks before your booking starts, or at the time of cancellation if you cancel your booking. This payment will include all applicable charges as detailed on your booking confirmation, including any insurance premiums and any Ferry costs. If payment is not received in full on time, we can treat your booking as cancelled by you for a non-refundable reason. If this happens, you will be responsible for cancellation charges (as shown in our main brochure or our website) including any deferred Booking Fee, Personal Travel Insurance and Ferry crossings that you have chosen to buy, all of which must be paid immediately.

Property Description

Nestling in a small valley above the village of Newland, this holiday property is within a converted farm of 8 individual dwellings. Newland is a picturesque village in The Forest of Dean an AONB. The village is built around the magnificent parish church known locally as ’The cathedral of the forest’. Well located for walking, cycling and canoeing. The spectacular River Wye is within 3 miles, with breathtaking views from Symonds Yat Rock, where the peregrine falcons can be spotted. Monmouth, Abergavenny, Hay-on-Wye and Ross-on-Wye are all within easy reach. Shop 13/4 miles, pub 1 mile.

All on ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin, both with en-suite shower room and toilet.

Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Freeview TV. DVD and small library. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Small courtyard garden with patio and furniture. Barbecue. Parking (2 cars). No smoking. Friday to Friday.

  1. Very good accommodation, especially ease of access for a disabled parent. Very friendly and helpful owners. Quiet spot, but many good attractions to visit within reasonable distance. Oct 2012.
  2. Set in a quiet location but within a 5 min drive to Coleford. The cottage has everything you require. You receive a warm welcome, with afternoon tea and cake ready for your arrival. Only a couple of cars left for work on a morning, so it is a very peaceful location, but still close to shops, etc. Sept 2012.

  5. Owners had succeeded in making cottage very user-friendly and comfortable. All details seemed to have been thought of. Area had lots of things to do for people of all ages and fitness levels. Only word of caution is that there was no mobile signal from the property, at least for our service provider. April 2012.
  6. Very nicely presented cottage with good facilities. Splendid ’host’ who had laid out tea and home made cake for us. We needed a quite, relaxing time and we certainly achieved it! March 2012.
  7. Beautiful sunsets silhouetting behind sugar loaf mountain in the distance. Truly we would rate this place 2nd only to the cottage in leenane connemara we stayed in last year and that is saying something. March 2012.
  8. The 2 of us + choccy labrador, stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. The property in beautiful and kept spotless. Home baked cake and a pint of fresh milk on arrival is a lovely welcome touch. Nice quiet area but easy drives to Castles and ruined Abbeys etc, in both England & South Wales. The Ostrich Inn in Newland is well recommended for food and Real Ales + even better it’s person & dog-friendly! Even the weather was great and it was November!!! Recommended. Nov 2011.

  12. Excellent spot very quiet & relaxing. Great food in the Butchers Arms only a 10 minute drive away. Kids & Adults will love Puzzlewood and clearwell caves. There are also several train rides. Beautiful scenery in the Forest of Dean.A great all round holiday. May 2011.
  13. A lovely cottage in a quiet area surrounded by rolling hillside. A warm welcome from the property’s owner and the proximity to the nearby town made for a relaxing break for our family - 2 adults, 2 children, aged 10 and 12 and our golden retriever, Poppy. We particularly liked the Sculpture Trail around the forest and would recommend Tintern Abbey as a morning’s visit. April 2011.
