Property Description

These two holiday properties stand near to each other in their own grounds, each with their own garden, and enjoy a convenient setting close to the heart of the delightful small market town of Ballater with good shops, hotels, restaurants and golf course near at hand. The Coyles (SOOJ) is a wonderful family house and perfect for larger gatherings, whether enjoying a special birthday or a relaxing get together with friends, with plenty of living space and very good amenities throughout to ensure a memorable and convivial holiday. On two levels, it offers a high standard of comfort throughout and is a great choice at any time of the year. The Coyles Cottage (SBH) is set in a delightful part of the garden and is well equipped throughout with a lovely sunny conservatory, and benefits from triple glazing and central heating throughout, affording year-round comfort. An excellent centre from which to discover the many places of interest nearby; Ballater itself is a lovely base with many links to the Royal family and historic castles nearby include Balmoral, Crathies and Craigievar. The Grampians offer wonderful hill walking and wildlife, and the surrounding area of Deeside is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Leisurely walks abound on the banks of the River Dee or alternatively tackle some of the Monros and other mountains in the Cairngorms - a short drive away via some majestic scenery. Skiing is 35 minutes’ drive going through parts of the Whisky Trail, and canoeing and mountain biking are also readily available throughout the region. Shops and pub 100 yards.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. The cottage was very quiet but within walking distance of the town centre. The conservatory was an excellent addition and useful for pets to stay in (during cooler periods as it does get hot). More details of the directions would have been helpful. I found the main Coyles House easily enough but the Coyles Cottage did not have a sign outside it. May 2012.
  2. This is a warm and well appointed cottage in a a very good location for walking and driving trips. Walking distance to all shops and restaurants in Ballater. Access to walks from the cottage easy too. April 2012.
  3. Nice cottage, but the living room needs rearranging to make it cosy. Jan 2012.
  4. The cottage is wonderful! Very comfortable and perfect for touring the area. Clean, everything you would require and a lovely sun room which is perfect for the dog! Garden is also totally secure which was reassuring for us taking our first holiday with our 7 month old Lab! Would highly recommend! Oct 2011.
  5. The cottage was well equipped & was in a quiet area. Ballater was a lovely place with lots of places to eat so we didn’t have to go far in the evening. Lots of good walks in the surrounding area with beautiful landscape. Would definitely go again. May 2011.
  6. A very comfortable cottage, near shops. Lots of walks. Per friendly. We only had a weekend stay but were very pleased with the cottage. Very peaceful setting with the enclosed garden. April 2011.
  7. Accommodation is very comfortable and the conservatory was wonderful for our dogs, as was the garden. Ballater is an ideal place for walkers as there are lots of places to go on foot, but if you want to tour further afield, it is not the best base to choose as, unless you want to be Aberdeen way, it is an hour driving on winding, hilly roads before you get on to a main road. March 2011.
  8. Accommodation was of a very high standard - furnishings, flooring, linen and towels. All electrical appliances were well maintained and spotlessly clean. While the cottage was centrally located in the village, within easy walking distance for all shops and amenities, it was still very peaceful with the conservatory overlooking the garden an ideal place to "chill out". July 2010.
  9. Loved the sunlounge, which doubled as a bike store and drying room! Cottage was very well equipped and had everything we needed. Great location - close to village centre yet quiet and secluded. July 2010.
  10. A well-appointed lovely cottage, with a very pleasant garden room for enjoying the long summer evenings. June 2010.
  11. The garden, the location and parking. June 2010.
  12. Very well equipped and very comfortable. June 2010.
  13. Lovely cottage, clean, well maintained, cosy with great central heating. Comfortable furniture, quality floor coverings and kitchen appliances. Great pretty well maintained little garden, secure for small dogs. Wonderful sun room, heated so usable all year. Quiet peaceful location. March 2010.
  14. Warm cosy cottage. Feb 2010.
  15. The layout of the cottage was ideal for our family - 2 dogs and a toddler can be hard work in the wrong place! The sunroom was perfect for the dogs to sleep in and being able to separate the sleeping and living areas was great for a sleeping baby in the evenings. Nov 2009.
  16. Very quite location. With in easy reach of the shops. Nov 2009.
  17. Well maintained and definitely a home from home with all mod cons and more. Oct 2009.
  18. Well-situated with a nice garden and all mod cons. Oct 2009.
  19. The cottage was delightful, especially the sun room which we used all the time. We used the sitting room one night only. Sept 2009.
  20. Enclosed garden - ideal for dogs. The conservatory made this accommodation excellent - always providing a bright and warm place to sit. Aug 2009.
