Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. This house simply feels likes home and so quiet. There is quite a narrow access lane, so not for faint-hearted drivers. June 2012.
  2. A beautiful cottage, restored and decorated with impeccable taste, in an outstanding location. Incredibly quiet despite being right in the centre of this lovely town - the only sound the blackbirds in the exquisite little garden. April 2012.
  3. 3rd time at this cottage in 2 years. Probably the best position and comfort for a self catering cottage in the town. It will be a regular visit for us. Oct 2011.
  4. This cottage is lovely - comfortable and attractive and set in a great wee town with nice cafes, pubs and giftshops. We worried initially it might be quite noisy as we normally go for remote cottages, but it was very quiet and peaceful. Sept 2011.
  5. A delightful cottage in a lovely small town. The accommodation exceeded our expectations being very comfortable and cosy. The cottage was very clean and the fresh flowers and box of fudge were a nice welcoming touch. The owners were very kind and we were able to extend our stay by three days beyond our original booking. Highly recommended. Aug 2011.
  6. This cosy cottage is only 5 minutes walk from supermarket, shops cafes and pubs but gives the impression of being in the countryside because it is so quiet and secluded. Lots to see in the area, we particularly enjoyed Levens, Sizergh and Dalemain. May 2011.
  7. The cottage was very central and close to all amenities in such a lovely town. It had so much character - lovely old beams and a cosy open fire to come home to after a day out (in November!). Nov 2010.
  8. Clean, comfortable, everything we needed provided. Oct 2010.
  9. This was our second visit to The Cottage and we will certainly return again. Very relaxing and comfortable. Spotlessly clean, secluded and beautifully furnished. Very convenient for the town centre, with great parking which is a bonus in Kirkby Lonsdale. Ideal location for lakes and dales. Lovely walks too. A little gem. June 2010.
  10. Idyllic cottage in a bustling market town. Excellent accommodation providing a real home from home experience. March 2010.
  11. Delightfully cool inside in hot weather. Garden a real suntrap, great for breakfast outdoors while watching the swallows, house martins and other birds. Extremely convenient for shops and places to eat. KL is a charming little town and it doesn’t take long to get to the Dales, the Lakes, the Forest of Bowland etc. June 2009.
  12. We loved the location - right in the town centre yet still totally secluded and private. The cottage is full of character and has been sympathetically modernised. More food storage space would be nice, and perhaps another armchair. But lots of nice touches such as the availability of hot water bottle and thermos flask, and the crockery, cutlery and glassware all very high quality. June 2009.
  13. The cottage is very well laid out, the equipment is very good, and the decor is charming. The location of the property means that we were able to use visit the town’s shops and amenities without using a car. July 2009.
  14. A lovely venue, right in the centre of town, and yet a quiet hideaway. Aug 2009.
  15. The cottage was spotlessly clean- a real home from home- in an excellent position on the edge of of a very picturesque village. Lots of places to eat to suit all tastes and lovely individual shops. Aug 2008.
  16. The cottage was charming and the owners very friendly and helpful. It is a lovely property in which to spend a holiday and we heartily recommend it. Aug 2007.
  17. Lovely village, family friendly cottage and lovely owners - all positive! April 2007.
  18. Incredibly handy for the centre of town and yet very quiet. Wonderful town to spend a restful week. Oct 2007.
  19. Location was ideal, could’nt have wished for a better cottage!!! May 2007.
  20. This is a wonderful cottage and should be very highly recommended. Dec 2007.
