Property Description

Situated within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, this traditional crofters cottage has been extended to provide spacious, modern holiday accommodation while retaining many original features such as exposed beams, stone walls and log burners. The cottage sits directly at the foot of the Cobbler, in secluded grounds within Ardgarten Forest with the River Croe running through the foot of the garden. The Cobbler, Brach, Lochside and other walks are available in the immediate area without the need to travel. The adjacent river is also popular for fishing, being a feed to Arrochars sea Loch (Loch Long). An ideal location to explore one of Scotlands most picturesque areas, with excellent activities, including walking, cycling, golf, fishing, pony trekking and water sports, which are all nearby. Visit the Trossachs Discovery Centre to learn more about this exciting area steeped in history, or enjoy a cruise on the stunning Loch Lomond. Also available within a couple of miles are the Arrochar Alps, and the Rest and Be Thankful. Further afield lies Oban, Fort William and the like, and the vibrant cities of Stirling and Glasgow are also within easy reach. Shops, pubs and restaurants 3 miles.

  1. This property is finished to a really high standard and provided a relaxing and comfortable stay for our party. Its location was ideal if you are looking for a base to explore Argyle, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. If you intend catering for yourself you need to be aware that the nearest shop only provides very basic provisions. However the Village Inn in Arrochar is first class. Aug 2011.

The Cobbler’s Retreat has just been refurbished to a very high standard, and has everything and more, to make for a comfortable and memorable holiday.   14. The Cobblers retreat was an ideal place to get away from it all. The accommodation was outstanding. A car was a must for getting about and exploring further afield, the local area had outstanding scenery. Ben Arthur’s Bothy provided really good food at a reasonable price with the added extra of lovely views of the loch. I would highly recommend this place for those who are looking for a peaceful holiday in a beautiful area of Scotland. Aug 2008.
  15. The croft was amazing and set in beautiful surroundings with a small river running by on the border of the property. Excellent location yet with easy accessibility to local amenities and places to visit. The croft was very spacious and very well equipped with high quality furnishings, more like a 4* hotel. Would definitely recommend to any holiday maker who enjoys excellent living accommodation. Hope to visit again real soon. April 2009.
