  2. A lovely ’oldy-worldy’ house with sloping floors and walls, wood fire, aga (although wasn’t working very well due to new oil) and loads of toilets, bathrooms and rooms! A few issues with heating, light bulbs and things, but the landlady was more than helpful in putting these right (as much as she could). A lovely place to have a big family get-together. Feb 2012.

  4. This is a great house. It’s not trying to be like something out of Grand Designs. It’s an honest no frills and VERY BIG house. It’s like having a small B&B all to yourself and your party. We have been twice and will be going again. Dec 2011.
  5. This is a perfect house for a large group. There are two sitting rooms with comfortable settees and televisions and a piano. We were a party of fifteen and found it ideal for our needs. There are lots of lavatories and bathrooms and a big kitchen as well as picnic tables in the lovely garden. The furnishings are basic but comfortable and clean. Oct 2011.

  14. The property was ideal for our extended family; the large, roomy house fitted our needs exactly. Location perfect for walking, local visiting and provisions-shopping. The two-tier garden suited the sporting aspirations of the younger members of the family and offered the spectators great gin-and-tonic testing and appreciation opportunities. May 2009.
