Property Description

This nicely converted 19th century cider mill holiday cottage is near the owner’s farm, with views over lawned gardens and meadows, in the cider apple county just south of the fine medieval town of Ludlow. It’s a short drive from woodland walks, fishing in the Teme Valley and the border country. The dining area retains a magnificent cider mill (one of the few that survive in the area) and the living room has external granary steps. Good walks from the door, and all the attractions of Shropshire and Hereford an easy drive. Shop, pub/restaurant ½ mile.

Ground floor: Dining room. Kitchen. First floor: Living room. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Woodburner in living room included. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot. High chair. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Fridge/freezer. Enclosed lawned garden with patio and chairs. Barbecue. Parking (2 cars).

  1. A well equipped and cosy cottage in an excellent, rural location. Friendly owners. Good for dogs. Highly recommended. Dec 2012.
  2. Excellent accommodation, ideal for dog owners with plenty of walks around the fields. The cottage is large and airy with everything you could want available. The owners are helpful if needed. The pictures on website do not show the accommodation to its best advantage. Would definitely stay there again. Dec 2012.
  3. A warm cottage with an enclosed, grassed garden which was ideal for my husband and I with our 3 hounds. Also a warm welcome from the cottage owner. Fantastic stone cider press in the cottage - a really interesting feature to keep the authentic feel of the cottage. Biggest attraction for us - 3 dogs allowed - THANK YOU! Nov 2012.
  4. Very good base for visiting Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Central heating excellent (we visited Oct/Nov) and garden is fully enclosed for dogs (including small ones). Oct 2012.
  5. This is the property to choose if you want a peaceful and tranquil cottage to return to each day. The cottage itself is stunning with the old cider mill still situated on the ground floor and the rest of the accommodation is comfortable and relaxing. The garden is quiet, accessible and safe as well as being private. The owner is welcoming and very helpful but unobtrusive in her approach. Absolutely excellent! July 2012.
  6. Warm, cosy, comfortable cottage, unique having old mill stone in dining room, an added delight.Well placed between Ludlow and Leominster with friendly well stocked village shop/post office in village, also good pub serving excellent meals. Very friendly helpful owners on site.Lots of lovely gardens to visit within a 20 mile radius. Cottage is spacious and having heating included in price makes the rent excellent value for money. We were supplied with a very generous supply of logs for the very easy to use and efficient log burning stove, along with an excellent central heating system we were warm at all times even on some very cold days. There is a large garden with garden furniture, safe for children, garden furniture. Most of all we enjoyed the peace and quiet. We recommend this cottage. March 2012.
  7. Great location, close to Ludlow & Leominster. Very peaceful, comfortable, nice owners, very dog friendly! March 2012.
  8. The very friendly owners greeted us with a tea tray on our arrival and a water bowl for the dogs. The cottage and its garden were beautiful and well maintained - you could tell they took real pride in it. It was warm, comfortable, very well equipped and in a lovely peaceful location. I would definitely recommend this cottage to my friends and it’s one we would certainly love to stay in again. Oct 2011.
  9. The cottage was one of the best we have been to the owners were so friendly and nothing was to much trouble. The dogs loved the freedom of the large enclosed garden and the property was genuinely dog friendly. Oct 2011.
  10. We received a very warm welcome even though we arrived a little earlier than expected. Sue made us all a lovely cup of tea and we sat in the garden. The garden is excellent for anyone with a dog -it’s huge and enclosed so no need to worry about your furry family friend escaping! The feature in the dining room is wonderful and the cottage is really warm and cosy when you light the wood burner and really kicks out some heat. The location is great and lots of EH and NT properties to visit - so many we didn’t get round them all. Can recommend the Ludlow food centre for local goodies and Corfe castle is great. The cottage is in a lovely quiet location and we haven’t seen so many stars at night. Can highly recommend the Boot in Orleton. Oct 2011.
  11. This must be the only holiday cottage to feature a real cider mill in the dining room - a real ’wow’ factor! The upstairs sitting room with its woodburner is really cosy - we have already booked for next year! Sept 2011.
  12. The ideal spot for a quiet country holiday that positively welcomes your dog! Well equipped and amazing period feature in the downstairs living area. Large, enclosed garden overlooking orchards and fields. We came back totally relaxed after our week there and would definitely book this property again. Sept 2011.
  13. Very welcoming hosts who put themselves out to make sure that we and especially our dogs had a most enjoyable holiday. June 2011.
  14. Wonderful friendly and helpful owner. Well equipped and spacious cottage. Extremely large lawned (and important for us) totally dog safe garden. Would recommend to anyone, particularly dog owners. Convenient for Ludlow, Leominster and the beautiful Shropshire countryside. April 2011
  15. Very comfortable cottage, lovely country setting & a really comfortable bed! Very nice village & local shop. Pubs also very friendly and welcoming. Very easy to travel to Ludlow, Hereford and other places of interest. We really enjoyed our holiday. March 2011.

  18. Very nice people that own the property and make you feel at home. A cup of tea on your arrival. Good walking round the area. Oct 2010.
  19. An excellent cottage, quirky, extremely well equipped and with a lovely, enclosed garden. The owners could not be more helpful or friendly - a fabulous family. We arrived with all the bits and pieces that are usually needed when hiring a cottage but found everything supplied - right down to milk, sugar and teabags for our first cuppa. Reading the guest book, most visitors seem to have stayed before which must be the best possible recommendation. June 2010.
  20. Comfortable, plenty of parking, large garden, excellent location and quirky. June 2010.
