The beautiful chapel once owned by John Myers, cousin of William Wordsworth, has been rebuilt keeping its character, original oak beams and wooden floors. Enjoy beautiful views from the property and wonderful walks through the western lakes. Just 1 mile away is the beautiful dog friendly beach at Silecroft. The southern lakes and fells are easily reached with Coniston Water, Ennerdale Water, Wastwater and Lake Windermere all within half an hour’s drive. Visit Muncaster Castle, La’al Ratty Miniature Steam Railway or the South Lakes Wild Animal Park. Horse riding nearby. Shop 5 miles, pub 1 mile, restaurant 2 miles.

Ground floor: Dining room/kitchen with beams. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet. First floor: Living room/bedroom area with double bed (5ft), double sofa bed, beams and wooden floor.

Woodburner in living room and bedroom (initial fuel included). Underfloor heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. DVD. iPod dock. Electric cooker. Shared laundry facilities. Fridge/freezer. Small garden with patio and furniture. Shared 5-acre grounds. Parking (2 cars). Cycle store. Natural water supply from spring. Welcome pack. Pets free of charge. No smoking.   1. We had a really lovely week away in October, the weather was good and the cottage was just perfect for two of us. We really felt like we had got away from everything for a week, we were left to our own devices and came and went as we liked. The cottage is furnished so beautifully and was extremely clean. Just a quick note if you want to be close to a shop/pub, this is not the place to be, it is very remote! :) Will definitely recommend! Oct 2012.

  5. This was a beatifully restored old property. Full of character but with all modern facilities - fabulous bathroom! Although the weatherwas poor when we visited, it was a lovely location with splendid country views. Owner was friendly and helpful. we will return! Feb 2012.
  6. An excellent base for exploring the west lakes coast, some lovely coastal walks to be had if you like exploring. The chapel is quite remote which is what we wanted don’t expect to be having a stroll to the pub! The benefit of this are excellent views from the window and peace and quiet at night, even the farms resident owl didn’t really bother us. I would recommend this cosy cottage to any couple wanting a bit of down time, also recommend horse riding on the beach, fantastic. Jan 2012.

  8. Beautiful cottage with the most stunning views. Excellent location, nice and quiet and only a very short drive to all local amenities (supermarket/petrol station/places of interest etc). The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard and had everything you would need. Will definitely recommend to friends and family and will be back to stay ourselves. Overall...5* - Excellent!
