These beautiful, detached holiday properties (refs 26506 and W43403) are situated on Po House Farm along with the owner’s home. They were once owned by John Myers, cousin of William Wordsworth, there are accounts of Wordsworth visiting the property in the Diaries of Dorothy Wordsworth. The Chapel (26506) is quiet and romantic and is arranged with the living area on the upper floor to maximise the fell and valley views, and there is a woodburner for those cosy evenings. It boasts a large bathroom with a freestanding bath and large wet room style shower. Po House (W43403) is an ideal retreat for a relaxing break and an authentic experience of rural life in Cumbria. There is a beautiful marble fireplace in the living room, range with open fire in the dining room and feature fireplace in the main bedroom. These Georgian stone house’s have been restored keeping their original character with original oak beams, wood floors and old slate floors. Both properties enjoy beautiful views of the Whicham Valley, Black Combe Fell and the Coniston Fells at the top of the valley. A paradise for lovers of wildlife and birds, Po House Farm is located amongst 5 acres of garden and woodland, and is surrounded by fields in the Lake District National Park. There are wonderful walks and just 1 mile away is the Irish sea and a beautiful dog friendly beach at Silecroft. The Whicham Valley is remote, unspoilt and an idyllic corner of the Lake District, ideal for walkers, mountain bikers, climbers, nature lovers and those enjoying the peace and beauty of the countryside. The Duddon Valley, Southern Lakes and fells are easily reached with Coniston Water, Ennerdale Water, Wastwater, and Lake Windermere all within half an hour’s drive. Visit Muncaster Castle, La’al Ratty Miniature Steam Railway or the South Lakes Wild Animal Park. Horse riding is available nearby including Cumbria Heavy Horses and beach rides at Silecroft.
