Property Description

These properties are beautifully located in peaceful Devon countryside designated as an AONB, with lovely rural views and just 1 mile from the historic village of Colyton. These attractive stone cottages have all been thoughtfully renovated retaining character and charm, beams and partial stone walling. They offer spacious well- equipped and tastefully furnished holiday accommodation. In addition, The Old Dairy is single storey and offers wheelchair access. Colyton is just 2 miles from the Jurassic coast at Seaton and is linked by a pleasant tramway ride along the Axe Estuary famous for its birdlife. Other resorts are easily reached such as Sidmouth, Exmouth, Lyme Regis, Beer and Branscombe. There are several local National Trust properties and many places of interest such as Honiton, famed as a principal antique, arts and crafts centre, Bicton Park, Forde Abbey, Crealy Adventure Park, Exeter and Dartmoor. The immediate locality offers particular opportunities for walking, cycling (cycles available for hire in Colyton), horse riding, bird watching and other country pursuits. All properties afford views over beautiful countryside. Depending on the season, sheep, cattle and alpacas normally graze on the owners’ land around the farm cottages. There are excellent coastal walks, riding and golf. A selection of shops, pubs and restaurants are 1 mile away at Colyton.

  6. This property was perfect for our needs, set in nice countryside but not too far from civilisation! it was well fitted out with everything you require, even a dishwasher. The owners gave us a warm welcome and were only too please to help if we required anything. They even let my daughters feed their alpacas! Well worth a visit. Aug 2011.
  7. Everything needed was there and every appliance worked as it should do. Warm and very light accommodation in a peaceful location but not too far away from a town (15-20 minutes walk). Lots of information on where to go and what to do also supplied. I would come again... Sept 2010.

The accommodation is comfortable and extremely well equipped and the outside areas are delightful and immaculately maintained. This experience was reflected in all the entries in the Visitors Book.
