Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Very nice welcome, thanks for milk too. Bungalow very nice, but was unhappy that I could not open door to let out dogs. Garden not secure at all. Oct 2012.
  2. The bungalow has fantastic views, plenty of ground, quite dated but cosy. Kitchen very small but white goods serviceable. If staying longer would have liked to have had a freezer as shops are a drive away. Lovely village setting and welcoming local pub. If you want a quite break this is perfect. July 2012.
  3. The bungalow was very comfortable and clean. It was well stocked with cutlery, crockery, glasses and cooking equipment. The kitchen was very small but adequate for basic cooking of meals. The view from the dining room window was lovely and it would have been very pleasant sitting outside - if the weather had been better. the garden was large and very well kept. June 2012.
  4. A lovely bungalow with stunning views and decent walks on your doorstep. The log fire in the evening was a bonus and although the interior and furniture is very old fashioned and certainly not kitted out with mod cons, we had a lovely dog walking weekend. Feb 2012.
  5. Nice and comfortable bungalow, owners very helpful and friendly and also nice gardens which are well kept, though the kitchen is small we found it no problem, would definitely recommend. Oct 2011.
  6. Met by the owners, very nice people, who had also lit the open log fire, (which was welcome for time of year!), because the previous guests had managed to turn off the storage heaters!! I asked for the "visitors book", but they didn`t keep one, hence this little review. I entered "good" for the location, which, in fact, was excellent, except to leave the property you stepped through the gate directly onto the road, which was fairly busy!! My wife, being infirm, and not able to move quickly was nervous of this. I`m not trying to be critical, just for anyone similar to my wife to be cautious. Once in the property it was fine. Good enclosed garden for our two pets, views from the bungalow were lovely. Nov 2011.
  7. The Property is very easily located. The welcome by the owner is second to none, the views are excellent. The bungalow is within easy reach of many locations. Nov 2011.
  8. Two lovely big bedrooms and very warm throughout. The furniture was very dated but in good condition and didn’t detract from the overall experience. The only down side was the extremely small kitchen and lack of food preparation areas. Property was easy to find and was well placed for accessing local attractions such as Matlock Bath. The village had its own gastro-pub, The Dog, but this was quite expensive. A more traditional pub, The Devonshire, was less than a mile away and served traditional food at better prices. Oct 2011.
  9. This was a quirky property and charming for all that. The kitchen is tiny but storage space in the pantry helps. The garden was beautiful and we only wish that the weather had enabled us to take advantage of the barbecue with its fantastic view. Aug 2011.
  10. The Bungalow was wellfitted out and we found it a great base for our discoveries in South Derbyshire. Although the weather was’nt perfect, it did’nt stop our enjoyment of the area. Good for dogs. June 2011.
  11. It was all very good with a lovely view over the lawn. Nov 2010.
  12. Spacious accommodation overall (although tiny kitchen). Wonderful aspect and lovely, well maintained large plot with generous gardens on three sides. May 2010.
  13. The property was excellent. The owner had provided for everything that you could wish for. Lovely garden. Excellent for visiting Chatsworth and National Trust properties. April 2010.
  14. Clean, tidy, warm welcome from the owner witha walk around the property. Also a fire going in the living room. Feb 2010.
  15. The bungalow was very clean and extremely well furnished with everything you could think of you might need (apart from a washing machine!). The rooms were large and it had a very homely feel which we all enjoyed. Feb 2010.
  16. Nice size bungalow set in very pretty surroundings. The owners were very helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble for them. Beautiful location. July 2009.
  17. Property spotless. Very old fashioned furnishings. Comfortable bed. Garden lovely but not fully enclosed. June 2009.
  18. Exceptionally clean and a very warm and helpful welcome by the owners. May 2009.
  19. This property was excellent value for money, extremely well looked after and the location very good. May 2009.
  20. We were not actually on holiday but needed somewhere to live while our home was being repaired by contractors working for the insurance company. Never the less we enjoyed living there and the owners were extremely helpful. We did really enjoy spending time there and would recommend it to anyone looking for a holiday in a quiet part of Derbyshire. Feb 2006.
