Converted from former farm buildings, these four holiday properties (two of which have been adapted for the disabled), are in the Southdowns National Park. Properties 17320 and 17321 command fine views over the surrounding countryside. Situated in the grounds of the family working farm, they are only 100 yards from the village of Compton with village shop and tea room with free wi-fi access. Enjoy peaceful walks along a bridle path leading to the South Downs Way, 2 miles designated as a National Park. The historic cathedral town of Chichester lies 10 miles away, with its cobbled streets adorned with tea rooms and restaurants, and the ornate cathedral. Scenic boat tours can be taken around the harbour. Goodwood and Fontwell races or polo at Cowdray are all within a short drive. Portsmouth, with shopping and leisure facilities, within easy reach. Hawking and falconry days can be arranged, prices on application and must be pre-booked direct with owner. Shop and pub 100 yards.

All on ground floor: Living room with beams and French doors. Dining room/kitchen with beams and French doors. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin with en-suite walk-in shower room and toilet. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

  15. This was the BEST cottage for disabled accommodation/adaptation we have ever been to. My husband is completely confined to a wheelchair and we had an excellent week. We also managed to hire a hoist from a local supplier and a daily carer from a nearby agency. Perfect! May 2009.

  17. Property was lovely and very spacious. Only negative point was that for a cottage which accepts dogs, having a beige carpet throughout the hallway and kitchen areas was quite stressful as we were concerned about getting any marks on it even though we thoroughly cleaned our dogs paws after a muddy walk in the rain. Although there was a plastic mat we could use it really wasn’t big enough and we only have a small dog! Otherwise, we couldn’t fault the cottage. Cottage was very clean and although we didn’t need them, the disabled facilities were very good. Overall, the cottage and especially the location were excellent. July 2009.

  19. We chose the Bull Pen as we wanted to bring 2 dogs with us. Not only was the accommodation excellent, it was also a blessing for dog owners. Large garden, completely enclosed (and not overlooked) so no worries about letting the dogs wander freely in and out the property. Also, excellent walking opportunities (long and short) on your doorstep. Excellent location for the Downs and the sea and some good local pubs for food. Aug 2008.
