Situated off the main street of this pretty market town this former barn, built in 1731, has an open-plan living room and bedroom on the first floor with French doors onto a balcony. It offers use of the sauna and swimming pool at the nearby Riverdale Hall Hotel at a discounted price. There is trout and salmon fishing on the River North Tyne, and Bellingham hosts a highly regarded golf course, par 70. Within walking distance to three pubs. Bellingham is on the edge of the Northumberland National Park next to Kielder Forest, which boasts spectacular views, scenic walks, mountain bike trails and water sports. Nearby is Hadrian’s Wall and the Roman towns of Hexham and Corbridge. Shop 100 yards, pub 50 yards, restaurant 200 yards.

Ground floor: Living room with sofa bed/dining room/kitchen. 1 single bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. First floor: Second living room with French doors, beams and double (5ft) bed.

  4. The cottage is well situated because Bellingham is a lovely little village. The cottage was clean and comfortable. We went for meals at the Cheviot Hotel and can highly recommend it. The food is above average and the prices reasonable. You can also take your dog as long as you eat in the bar. Oct 2011.

Excellent dog friendly accomodation provided here.The sensible layout ensures that even in adverse weather conditions you should be able to clean and care for your pet whilst maintaining the pristine condition of the upper level lounge and bedroom areas which have the feel of a cosy and romantic loft style apartment.   6. A lovely dog friendly cottage (2 dogs a shepherd and a cross lab) booked initially for 2 but decided to take in-laws with us-comfortable for 4 people even on the sofa bed! Great location in village of Bellingham, local places to eat and drink- beautiful country side to visit even in the rain! June 2011.

We had a lovely stay the accommodation was homely, and had everything that we would have wanted, it was lovely for our pets we had two cats and a little poodle they were totaly at home, it was warm and the tv although we are not television addicts was amazing like being at the cimema, ( so nice my husband is now bugging me for one), the decore was nice and it was good to have the balcony as my husbabd does like a cigarette so all in all a very nice stay, thanks.   13. A great little cottage ideal for dog owners, with the downstairs being all hard flooring. After a long day walking it meant we could clean the dogs and let them dry before going upstairs in the evening to the lounge area. Fabulous..!!

  18. The owner was very helpful, even though l did’nt have to ring them for anything as the property and everything around the area was spot on..the cottage was comfortable, clean and very quiet..(lovely..) would go back there with my two dogs..they loved it too..!! Oct 2008.
  19. Although the weather was very snowy for most of the week, this did not affect our enjoyment of our holiday! The weather conditions on occasions it enhanced it! i.e. Slip, Sliding along Hadrian’s Wall or the very crunchy walk around Kielder Water, making the first footprints in the deep snow! Feb 2009.
  20. The cottage was great, extremely comfortable and welcoming. We all (including the dog) felt instantly at home. It was also well appointed for dog walks and an excellent hotel/ restaurant where we ate out several times.The cottage kitchen was also very well equipped. We loved our holiday and hope to repeat it in the future. April 2008.
