Situated in the picturesque hamlet of Fluxton, nestled at the foot of rolling hills that ascend from the River Otter, 2 miles from Ottery St Mary and 5 miles from Sidmouth – The Barn is a perfect rural holiday retreat. A wing of a property, The Barn is set in the grounds of the owner’s thatched Devon longhouse and offers the perfect get away for couples. The living/bedroom area has French doors leading out to a balcony with lovely views over the countryside. Decorated and furnished to a good standard, this is an ideal base for many activities including walking, fishing, golfing, swimming, tennis or sailing. The Barn is situated in the heart of East Devon with the Jurassic coast and Otter Valley on the doorstep. Shop, pub and restaurant 1/2 mile.

Ground floor: Dining room/kitchen with tiled floor. Shower room with toilet. First floor: Living room/double bedroom area with French doors.

Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. DVD. CD. Gas hob. Electricity oven. Washing machine. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Large shared lawned garden with sitting-out area and furniture. Barbecue. Parking (1 car). Pet free of charge. No smoking. Friday to Friday.

  2. A lovely cottage, well equipped and the layout was good - lovely garden to relax in. Very near and some lovely villages. Very good pub in the village. A nice touch was the fresh eggs. All in all an excellent holiday. May 2012.
  3. Fabulous cottage, everything you could want was there, The gardens are gorgeous to sit in and catch the evening sun. I didn’t work out who the owner was however the few people I bumped into were lovely, not intrusive but full of good advice and easy to talk to. The area is wonderful for walking, my dog loved the river Otter and we walked for miles even though it was badly flooded in places. Walk from Branscombe to Beer is great and cream tea at Branscombe was a nice treat after!. I’d thoroughly recommend the cottage and the area to everyone... I’ll definitely go back!! May 2012.
  4. Lovely little cottage great for the romantic couples out there. The reason that I hired this cottage was for my dog, great place for that, my dog had a fab time. Plenty to do around the area particularly the walks. Oct 2011.
  5. Fabulous little barn - it is very small but very comfy and warm, and beautifully set out. The balcony from the bedroom was so usual and a lovely place to sit. The garden was great for our dog as it’s enclosed. Lovely walks by the River Otter just a few minutes walk away. Oct 2011.
  6. Our stay at the Barn was a magnificent short break away from everything. However, plenty just a car drive away if you want more to do! The accommodation was beautiful and cosy, surrounded by lovely walks (we did two from a walking book left by the owner, perfect, and a great pub within walking distance. Would definitely go here again. Oct 2011.

  8. We really enjoyed our stay, a few minutes walk along a path and you are strolling beside the river Otter (delightful). Lovely to sit out with your partner on either the veranda or terrace after a day out, (you could have one each if things haven’t gone too well). Overall cosy and comfortable and in a lovely area. July 2011.
  9. Fantastic cottage, lovely welcome with fresh eggs and wine. Very comfortable, lovely walk in shower. Beautiful surrounding countryside, with great walks available. Not too far to drive to Sidmouth beach. Within walking distance of Ottery St Mary. June 2011.
