This is wonderful walking country with the spectacular Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, one of the seven wonders of Wales, close by. Water sports are available at the nearby lakes of Vyrnwy and Bala. the Snowdonia National Park is just a short drive away. Just 2.5 miles from the pretty village of Llanrhaeadr, with its excellent selection of shops and welcoming country pubs. This property has achieved Bronze status in Green Tourism. Shop, pub and restaurant 2.5 miles.

  1. We wanted peace, quiet and tranquility and this is what we got, and more besides. The house is well equipped and has lovely views to the front. We enjoyed sitting outside, although the weather was not kind to us all the time, looking at the view and the birds who visited the garden. The only down side for us, was that there was no bbq at the property. We would visit again and would certainly recommend this to others. Sept 2010.

  8. The location is beautiful. We found the kitchen to be well equipped and were impressed that there were recycling facilities. April 2009.
  9. We came to stay at Tanyffridd during the snowy weather which made it very exciting! We had to leave our cars about 2.5miles away and hike up to the cottage with all our gear, it was great! The cottage was just lovely. And was made particularly beautiful with all the snow around on the mountains and fields. Although we couldn’t drive anywhere there were lovely walks (and sledging!) all around. It was a fantastic holiday with great company and wonderful surroundings. Feb 2009.

  11. Specially for foreigners: the house is a traditional old farm-house, with its own (welsh) character. From the kitchen window you have a beautiful view on the green hills, with sheep everywhere. A place for how likes a quiet and calm stay and don’t bother to ride about half an hour to village with pub and shops nearby. Aug 2007.
