Secluded private detached single-storey holiday cottage in its own grounds near Harlech, within the curtilage of Snowdonia National Park and with fantastic views of the surrounding area. Situated on the upper outskirts of the village of Talsarnau on a quiet lane to the tranquil Caerffynnon Hall Estate and at the foot of a private wood with the ruins of an 11th century look-out, this peaceful coastal village is within easy driving distance to both the market town of Porthmadog (20 minutes) and the seaside village of Harlech (7 minutes). Horse riding and golf nearby. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 0.25 miles.

Steps down to entrance. All on ground floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen. 3 bedrooms: 1 double with French doors, 2 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Woodburner in living/dining room (no fuel provided). Electric central heating and electricity included (£40per week November-March). Bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Video and small library. DVD and small library. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Tumble dryer. Lawned garden, patio and furniture. Undercover decking area. Built-in barbecue. Parking (2 cars). Cycle store. No smoking.

Cottage exceptionally clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Would definitely book again log fire was great for cold winter nights, barbecue area would be great in the summer and so would the garden. Dec 2011.
  2. Beautiful location, wonderful views over estuary. Small but very comfortable and decked area useful in wet weather! Access at front and rear not suitable for less mobile people and a drop in front of property, so small children and dogs must be supervised. All amenities good,restaurant very close and good food too! Great walking on the estate. Sept 2011.

  4. The view to Portmerion is really what makes this property special. On our last night we could see fireworks from our bedroom window! July 2011.
  5. "You don’t need the 41" television, you can just spend all your time looking at the amazing views and local wildlife from the lounge window! Small climbing frame and loads of toys for the kids, and it’s in a quiet secluded location with loads of space for the kids to run around in. Has some rather nice features like the large covered patio area etc.Be prepared to either use your car a lot, or wait patiently for the trains that pass nearby every two hours or so. But there’s so much to do and such stunning scenery within a short drive that this is irrelevant. Make sure you go to Portmeirion (it’s worth the money!), Shell Island near Harlech, and enjoy the views from the (free!) Dolbadarn Castle in Llanberis. Y Branwen in Harlech does good food, alhough it’s a tad pricey. Cheapest petrol in Wales may be at Porthmadog. We had a great holiday, I’d thoroughly recommend it (but come prepared for the Welsh weather!). June 2011."

We left chocolates for the owners as the cottage had a very homely feeling, and also the information left in their folder to help visitors was very helpful making people visiting feel as they were their guests. I have been booking our annual holidays for the last 4 years with Cottages4you, and been to various parts of the lakes and also encouraged our friends to go. March 2007.
  14. The cottage is in an amazing location and very central to many beautiful tourist sites. The house is much bigger than expected and was very comfortable and well presented. The view is spectacular and I would recommend the house to anyone interested in going to Snowdonia and the surrounding areas. Dec 2007.
