Walking in the immediate area includes the Tees Railway Walk, whilst the Pennine Way is close by at Middleton-In-Teesdale. Shops 2 miles, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

Ground floor: Living/dining room with beams and stone floor. Kitchen. Conservatory with French doors. Separate toilet. Steep stairs to first floor: 3 bedrooms: 2 double, 1 bunk, all with wooden floors. Bathroom with bath, double shower cubicle and toilet.

Woodburners in living/dining room included. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot. High chair. Video and small library. DVD and small library. Electric cooker.   5. The cottage offered everything and more... We were welcomed by the owner who left us a complete breakfast in the fridge... bacon, sausages, eggs (very nice) bread and milk. The views from the cottage are breathtaking and the location of the property is set in a wonderful and friendly village. The kitchen was also very spacious and included washing machine and tumble drier. Coal fire in the lounge made it feel cosy and homely. July 2011.

  7. The Syke Cottage is in a lovely village, kettle was on and log fire was alight. The owners made us very welcome, and gave us a lot of information about the area, breakfast was in was in fridge and there was also tea bags, sugar and milk supplied, it was most welcome after our long journey, we will recommend the cottage to all our friends, and we are looking forward to staying there again sometime. May 2011.
