Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Quaint and yet had everything one needs for a holiday break. Aug 2012.
  2. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable with lots of nice touches. Cooking with the Rayburn is interesting and fun but takes some getting used to. Dec 2011.
  3. This cottage was very comfortable and clean. Excellent log fire for the cold evenings and a welcome basket with wine on arrival. Owner was very friendly. The garden is well kept - there is a small pond / water feature but is covered with wire. The beds were comfortable and although traffic passes on the road outside was surprisingly quiet. We would go back to this cottage so can’t be bad. Please mind your head on the low door frame of the front door though - even though there is a sign saying ’mind your head’ it still hurts when you don’t. Oct 2011.
  4. Lovely cottage, only used the Rayburn once. Local woods and field nearby for walking the dog. Bed linen lovely and fresh. Home from home. Aug 2011.
  5. The property is in a good location for visiting different sites on IOW. Very pretty cottage. The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean and tidy. June 2011.
  6. The cottage is beautifully decorated in a traditional style and is very comfortable. The garden is lovely and a real little sun trap. The local pub accepts dogs, food is reasonable and very staff friendly(range of ales). There is a field you can walk dogs at the end of the footpath just up the road. Parkhurst forest is also excellent for dogs as is Brook bay where they are permitted year round. June 2011.
  7. A welcoming, beautiful cottage that immediately makes you feel relaxed. Ideally situated to tour the entire island, this is a holiday home that you will never forget and certainly want to return to. May 2011.
  8. Delightful cottage - lovely garden - the many birdboxes with feathered residents were great! June 2011.
  9. The cottage is charming and comfortable. Nov 2010.

  12. Typical English cottage with nice layout of rooms and a nice garden/seating area. Every single item that you require is available for your holiday with in the cottage. April 2010.
  13. Cosy cottage. Very clean. Nice garden. April 2010.

  17. It is wonderful to find a proper traditional cottage with its original features, the fun we had using the rayburn. Nov 2009.

  20. Sydney Cottage on the Isle of Wight is a wonderful place. The garden being an oasis in itself. It is an old cottage and has been restored very considerately and everything blends in. Its certainly home from home. Would recommend a visit to the cottage to anyone. March 2009.
