Whether seeking an active family holiday or a relaxing weekend to recharge the batteries, Newhouse Barton is the perfect location from which to explore the South Hams, the Dart Estuary and Dartmoor. Located midway between Totnes and Newton Abbott, this collection of sympathetically and carefully restored barns and farm cottages (refs H42, HCCA, HCCR, HCCS, HCCW, HDDH, HEEC and HCCG), enjoy a superb range of on-site facilities including a Roman-style heated indoor swimming pool (no additional charge), a traffic-free and child-friendly setting with young children’s play area and a furnished games room with pool table, table tennis, table football and toys for younger guests. Nearby there is a range of quality restaurants and pubs serving an excellent range of food to suit all tastes and budgets. The surrounding area offers a beguiling mix of attractions to suit all tastes and ages.   1. This is our third year at this location and first staying in swift. The cottage was excellent and thoughtfully set up. Our child loved the ’den’ on the gallery. Rooms were comfortable. Everything you needed in the kitchen but a bit limited on food cupboard space, but then we didn’t intend cooking so that was fine! The back door which faced the pool was extremely convenient especially when unpacking/packing the car. Loved it would use this cottage again. July 2012.

  5. Excellent, cosy cottage, wanted for nothing! We loved the pool and the games room, in fact we loved it all! The location is lovely, as were all the people we met locally, it’s also close to a lot of attractions, which the whole family enjoyed. Will definitely stay again. May 2011.

  7. This property was by far the best and most thoughtfully equiped cottage I have ever stayed in. The worst part about it was that I will be disappointed in the future should I book somewhere else! The location is lovely, with excellent facilities for the children and amazing views. We had a splendid week, made 100% better by the thoughtful owner supplying such things as sellotape, washing powder, two BBQs - one near the cottage and one near the childrens play area, a rough guide to devon and cornwall, the national trust guidebook, clothes drier, washing machine and dryer free of charge.... I could go on for pages. We will certainly be back. April 2011.
