Set just behind the owner’s own home, in a quiet location, well placed for relaxing or for visiting the coast with Lytham St Annes approximately 6 miles away, where you will find a wide selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Alternatively, the lively seaside resort of Blackpool is approx 8 miles. For those who prefer scenery, the Pennines and the Trough of Bowland are easily accessible by car and the Lake District makes for an alternative day out. Shop and restaurant ¾ mile, pub 1½ miles.   1. Swallows Rest is a beautiful barn conversion, renovated to a very high standard, in a lovely rural location. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and is extremely cosy and comfortable, despite its ultra modern feel. The owner is a wonderful host - very helpful and friendly, but without being obtrusive. Despite it’s rural location, there are several pubs and shops a short drive away, and the cottage makes a great base for visiting the north-west coast. We were so pleased to find such a high standard of accommodation in such a tranquil setting and we can’t wait to return! June 2012.
  2. Swallows Rest was very good but we were there really to visit our friend in hospital rather than a "holiday" so it was only a 2 day stay. Everything was fine in the cottage & the small garden we found "restful". May 2012.
  3. When we arrived the own was very welcoming, such a beautiful location, go to the fishing pool down the road and they do value for money meals and they to are very welcoming, It was such a beautiful and calming place to me, just what I needed. Thank you again for a beautiful stay. April 2012.

  5. Very helpful owner, made us feel very welcome on our 5 day break. Gave us tips on places to visit. Would recommend the eagle and child pub which serves fantastic food at great prices. Accommodation was cosy and very well presented, we enjoyed it so much we didn’t want to leave. Can’t wait to visit again. Oct 2011.
  6. The owner Mrs Johnston is extremely nice and helpful. The cottage is situated in a very quiet location. There are plenty of places to go too. The railway station at Kirkham is very handy for Manchester, Liverpool, London plus many more. Our favourite eating place was the Eagle and Child a few minutes away by car. This is our second year at Swallows Rest and we will probably go back next year as there are still places I would like to visit and it feels to homely. July 2011.

  9. A lovely cottage in a quiet countryside location yet only 10 mins from Blackpool. The standard of fixtures and fittings is superb, better than what we have at home. Linda is very friendly and helpful and right next door should you need anything. Best cottage we’ve ever stayed in and looking forward to when we can go again. April 2011.
  10. Considering my partner was disabled, he had no problem with the access to anything he wanted. Just ask on arrival to any other needs available, and owners are more than able to accommodate your needs. Excellent facilaties. Enjoyed our stay. Thankyou very much, be back again. April 2011.

  18. Ideal haven in rural environment with contemporary, very high standard furnishings. Located in beautiful countryside, excellent pub food 1.5 miles away, 10-12 miles to beaches, retail therapy in Preston or Fleetwood if desired. June 2010.
