Property Description

Sunnylands Farm is situated approximately 5 miles from Wimborne and is ideally located on a working farm, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the edge of the hamlet of Uppington. On a clear day there are views across West Dorset and the Isle of Wight! Adjoining one another, these holiday homes were formerly the old dairy and provide very comfortable accommodation. The orchard can be enjoyed for a picnic which leads to a footpath down to the pretty village of Hinton Martell. Within easy reach is the New Forest National Park, Poole Harbour, Bournemouth, Christchurch and the Purbecks with NT Corfe Castle and the seaside town of Swanage. Famous as ‘Hardy country’, many of Dorset’s towns and landmarks are recognisable from the novels of Thomas Hardy, who was born near Dorchester in Dorset. The county is renowned for its miles of beautiful unspoilt beaches as well as for the Jurassic Coast coastline – a World Heritage site. Shop 2 miles and pub 3 miles.

  3. An excellent cottage in a beautiful location! We had a fantastic time at Sunnylands Farm and were made to feel very welcome, we would love to go again. The cottage was decorated and finished brilliantly a home away from home! The special touches left for us were very thoughtful, I couldn’t believe all we had, the eggs were the best we’ve tried. I was a little concerned whether the accommodation would be suitable for our 15 month old - but we had nothing to be concerned about, he loved it and the cottage was very safe. He enjoyed visiting the horses each morning. Oct 2011.
  4. Peaceful location, owners very hospitable providing most essentials including a welcome pack of bread eggs bacon and milk. It was a great surprise. Kitchen area and bathroom modern clean and a pleasure to use. Oct 2011.
  5. Very well equipped and handily placed. The only downside was that previous occupants didn’t know how to wash up so we had to wash virtually all pans, glasses, cutlery and crockery. July 2011.

  16. Super location, a peaceful retreat. Plenty to see and do without driving too far. Accommodation was exactly as advertised (some other holiday websites’ photographs and descriptions can be deceptive). Property was finished to a very high standard, and immaculately presented. Welcoming food items - eggs, bread, butter, milk, even a cake - much appreciated after a long journey. Very helpful neighbour while the owner was on holiday. Cost was not especially cheap nor expensive - value for money. If your other cottages are like this then we’ll definitely book our next one through your company. Aug 2010.
