Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. What a fabulous cottage! The host Tim was excellent , on arrival flowers on the table a roaring fire and goodies in the fridge. We lacked nothing in terms of home comforts, the cottage was spacious yet cosy. Cooking on the aga was great. Kids took their farming job of feeding the lambs very seriously, and they loved the resident Highland cows. We were all very sorry to leave after the week and hope to return... the ideal place to relax and get away from it all... literally! June 2012.
  2. This was a really lovely barn, nice and space yet very cosy probably aided by the aga. Extremely clean and tidy with brand new tea, coffee, kitchen roll, foil and cleaning cloths etc - no need to buy dishwashing tablets. Wine and biscuits welcomed us too. Great setting with river right by the barn. Lots of mining history and great walks and waterfalls nearby. Access to East and West coast, plenty of National Trust and Historic sites. Aug 2011.
  3. If you simply want to get away from it all, this is the place. We have four kids 7 - 13yrs and they loved it. Loads to do locally. Great walks and farmer Tim is the best! Feeding the lambs in the morning and coming up close to the highland cattle was fab. Great pub 2 miles down the road. weather very changeable but that was half the fun. We still had bright sunshine. Lovely arga and open fireplace in cottage. Perfect. Take your wellies! May 2011.
  4. The property was brilliant, and perfect for our christmas break. The owner was extremely helpful and really made a difference to our break. Thank you Tim! Dec 2010.
  5. The cottage was everything we were promised and more. The warm welcome provided all that we needed, from basic provisions like toilet roll and washing up liquid to bottles of wine and ready to light log burning stove. A warm cosy and pretty cottage and setting. Oct 2010.
  6. This was a fantastic place to get away from the stresses in life, if you like the seclusion then this is definitely the place to be, definitely will book again. Aug 2010.
  7. The landlord had made everything as comfortable as possible and even left some basic provisions. It was well equipped with none of the annoying ommissions e.g. no loo roll, no cleaning equipment, no washing up liquid, which we normally experience. April 2010.
  8. The cottage is beautifully furnished, very spacious and comfortable. It is in a lovely, private location. Our children enjoyed playing in the fields around the cottage. The owners of the cottage were also friendly and very helpful. We would highly recommend this cottage and hope to return again. Dec 2009.
  9. Fantastic location, good furnishings, nice touches like providing necessities eg fire lighters, matches, dishwasher tablets, soap etc. Sept 2009.
  10. We had a very peaceful and enjoyable Christmas in a lovely location. Dec 2006.
